The Story:

Cat Grant interviews Supergirl, asking her why she is just now showing herself. She also asks about her relation to Superman and taunts her about not being on his level. After their meeting, the news comes on with Cat revealing Supergirl to being Superman's cousin. A new threat comes to National City in the form of Reactron, a man fitted with a cybernetic suit which produces radiation he can focus into concussive blasts. He flies away after his first encounter with Supergirl. Hank tells her to stay away and let the DEO handle, but Kara thinks she can handle him. Winn brings Kara and Jimmy to their new "headquarters" located in a vacant area of their office building. Jimmy accidentally reveals Superman's secret identity to Winn when telling Kara that Clark nearly died fighting Krull. Maxwell Lord is shown over seeing a project on a new train when Reactron shows up. He offers to go with Reactron as long as he let his employees be. Alex gets together with Kara and her team to locate Reactron who is apparently dying. He orders Maxwell to fix his suit in exchange for his life. Despite Jimmy's warnings, Kara tries to reason with Krull, but can not get through to him. They fight, with Krull having the upper hand. Before he can finish her, Superman shows up to save Kara and makes Krull retreat. Wondering how her cousin found out about her fighting Krull, Kimmy reveals the communicator in his watch. Thinking no one believes in her being able to handle things, upsets her. Kara attends the Supergirl themed party she put together for Cat when Reactron shows up looking for her. Alex and Hank inform Kara that the only way to stop him is to contain the core in lead so she covers her arm with it. She successfully stops Krull, who is then arrested. Lucy Lane, Jimmy's ex girlfriend and Lois Lane's sister comes back to town to patch things up with him. Upset, Kara goes to her desk when she is contacted by Clark via IM. He tells her that he is proud of her and that he will not interfere with her becoming a hero.

The Action:

The fight scenes on this show have been great and not one of them has been a disappointment. I like that they did not do too much flying during the fights between Reactron and Kara. They also did a great job on showcasing her strength more and well you know how we feel about the energy beams on this show. THEY ARE AWESOME!! Here are a few cool shots of some of the action.

New Characters/Cameos:

Ben Krull/Reactron- An enemy of Superman who has come to National City in hopes of finding someone to fix his suit. A nuclear blast that killed his wife and left him gravely ill drove Krull insane, blaming Superman. The villain each have their own unique trait and I thought the show did this character justice. Everything down to suit was done well. He did get arrested in the end and wasn't killed like the last two baddies, so we might see him again.

Lucy Lane- Lois Lane's little sister has come to town and it looks like she has some unfinished business with Jimmy. We can not wait to see more of her next week.

Character Interactions:

Team Supergirl- The good thing is that they now have a base. The bad thing is that this weird love triangle has gotten even more complicated now that Lucy is in town. A part of me really wants Winn and Kara to be together, but the feeling there doesn't seem mutual.....yet. With that being said, this trio got the job done, with a little help from Alex of course.

Kara and Hank/DEO- These two will never get along because he is secretly an arch enemy of Superman. I gave him the benefit of the doubt the first episode, but his attitude is just too much now. Yeah, he might have aided Kara in defeating Krull, but she was the one who got the job done.

Kara and Alex- The heart to heart with these two are really sweet. Even though Kara has superpowers, her sister offers the moral compass she needs to get through each trial. Despite her working with the DEO, she continues to put Kara ahead of her job and herself. She even went behind Hank's back helping Kara take out Krull.

Alex and Hank- Right before he confronted Alex on helping Kara his eye's glowed red again. Very shady indeed. According to Hank, ever since Kara started working with them, Alex has been disobeying orders. I say, go ahead and keep doing your thing Alex, because you are the reason why Kara's been able to hone her skills and stop the baddies (with a little help from Winn and Jimmy of course).

Kara and Cat- These two have a great dynamic. They are just polar opposites, and whether Kara is herself or Supergirl, she can't seem to handle Cat. She took Kara's words and twisted this image people had of her. Harsh Cat, harsh.

Kara and Maxwell- She saves him, he thanks Superman. She saves him again, and offers her to be his personal body guard. This guy is such a douche bag, but a loveable one at that.

Maxwell and Cat- These two seem to have a past with one another. We will probably see what is up with them in later episodes. They seem perfect for each other.

Kara and Clark- After hearing about Lucy and Jimmy, Kara goes to her desk feeling sad. Winn tries to cheer her up, but she brushes him off, until she gets a message from her cousin. He tell her he is proud of her and will not get in the way of her trying to save her city on her own. It was a pretty touching moment. We got a little more of him this episode and I hope we continue to moving forward.

Easter Eggs:

Jimmy Olsen's watch- This watch emits a high frequency sound only heard by Superman.

Toyman- Winn has a lot of toys on his desk. Hopefully that just a nod to his father being the Toyman and not Winn himself.

Kara Danvers- Her cousin Clark does the same thing she did in this episode. The eye glass push and hiding in plain sight. i can't see the similarities they say.

Guess it was a job for Supergirl- This was shown at the top, but I like how they did it. A play off of "This looks like a job for Superman".

Whats To Come/Theories:

It looks like the next episode is going to focus more on relationships with what is seen on the previews, but hopefully we get to see some action. I looks like Kara is also seen lifting the side of a building and some shots of her flying around, but I am interested to see how the arrival of Lucy Lane affects Team Supergirl. I was totally wrong about the OMACs, but since we got to see more Maxwell this episode, we will probably see them in the future. Hank Henshaw eyes glowed again in this episode, and you can see that they are robotic looking. How long until Kara finds out the truth about him? Dun.Dun.Dun.

Final Thoughts:

These first three episodes have gotten better and better. They can still do with a little less flying, but other than that it was great. Solid story, really cool action sequences and an amazing cast, this show has really grown on me. Melissa Benoist absolutely crushes it as Supergirl and Kara; and seeing her progress as a hero each week, gets me excited for the next episode. What did you guys think about this episode? Leave it in the comments below, we'd love to read them!
