Check out our podcast down below to hear us talk about this episode:
In a flashback May is on a vacation with Andrew. She asks him how he would feel about her not returning to S.H.I.E.L.D and he says that it is her choice. After some time we see Andrew in his office being exposed to the Terrigen Mist. Back in the present Daisy and Coulson are in disagreement over what to do with Lash. Coulson wants to kill him when Daisy thinks that there is still someone worth saving. Andrew meets with them and sides with Coulson on the matter. Jemma asks Fitz to see if he can retrieve the data from her phone, which he agrees to do. May is still in shock after learning the truth about Andrew, while Bobbi tells her that it is good to have her back. Bobbi also tells her about the Inhuman Lash which worries her. Daisy is excited to see her back, but after learning about him being at an Inhuman training facility with Joey, she rushes to confront him. Bobbi tells Lance that she needs him to stop acting like the people they are chasing. While retrieving the files from Jemma's phone, he hears a voice recording of her describing the planet. She tells him that the two moons keep appearing and reappearing, but the sun never shows. May shows up just in time before Andrew can do anything to Joey. Mack meets with Lincoln who tells him that Lash is someone from Shield and asks for his help to prove it. Daisy meets with Rosalind and tries to change her hands about Inhumans, but Rosalind stands her ground. May tries to talk to Andrew, but he shoots her with a stun gun after she yells at him to tell her the truth. Back at the lab, Fitz views a video of Jemma who talks about the first meeting and her missing him. Andrew has May locked up at an abandoned house tries to explain his condition to May. He explains how he survived the mist, but that it changed him into Lash. That he kept it a secret to protect her and that he still loves her. Daisy interrupts Rosalind and Coulson who are then met by Mack and Lincoln. They all come to the conclusion that Lash is Andrew and rush to save May. Andrew tries to convince her that what he is doing is necessary but she thinks he is disillusioned. Coulson shows up as Andrew and May share an intimate moment. Coulson tries to bring Andrew in peacefully, but he transforms into Lash when Lincoln steps in. They fight each other and Lash gets the upper hand. Just before he can finish Lincoln off the team intervenes, but no one is able to take him down. Daisy saves Rosalind from falling to her death while Lash continues to run about. May tries to reason with Lash and helps him transform back to his self. She guns him down and traps him in a containment cell, but he survives. Fitz tries to convince Lance and Bobbi that Will has ties to an ancient entity who used the portal. After talking to Daisy, may decides to leave Andrew with the ATCU so that they can cure him. Jemma and Fitz watch the sunrise together while May thinks back to the time of her and Andrew. Ward talks to Malick about taking out Coulson to bring down Shield, when Malick gets a call from Rosalind. She is revealed to be working with him.
We thought the big showdown between Lash and Coulson's team would be done at the season. We get that this episode and although it was a bit short, it was pretty awesome.
Joey Gutierrez- There were no new characters, but we get to see this guy using his abilities again. This time he nearly has total control over his powers and was able to crush a metal cabinet. Is he the first recruit to the Secret Warriors?! Quake, Sparkplug (according to Mack), and Welder (that's what we're calling him).
Andrew and May- As I said in the podcast above, this was Agents of Shield's production of Beauty and the Beast. The only exception is that in this version, the beast didn't get the girl, gets shot, and is locked away. It is pretty tragic, but it had to be done. You can see that there is something still there, it is all a matter of whether or not they can fix Andrew.
Daisy and Lincoln- With Lincoln finally agreeing to stay with Shield, we will hopefully get to see the two of them together more. It is also looking like he will be another recruit the Coulson's Secret Warriors! There is a super couple in our midst with Mack third wheeling of course. It's about damn time!
Mack and Lincoln- These two had a rock start at the beginning of the season, but they finally teamed up this episode. We even have Mack saving Lincoln from getting destroyed by Lash. I see a bromance cooking up here.Daisy and Coulson- They haven't been seeing eye to eye on anything in the last few episodes and you can say that Daisy is really doubting where Coulson allegiance lies. At least they found common ground this episode, which was to stop Lash.
Daisy and Rosalind- They haven't liked each other since the start and they both make some solid points with where they stand with the Inhumans. If I had to choose a side you know I would be right next to Daisy in a heart beat. Rosalind made a good point though saying,"With every Daisy Johnson, there is a Lash." Daisy did save Rosalind from falling to her death though, but I'm not sure if that was a good thing. We'll talk about that later though.
Rosalind and Coulson- About time Coulson! Cousalind shippers anyone? These two were definitely made for each other and I would be fine with that, except for what you see in the last minute of the show. Rosalind is one shady person I tell you. Hopefully she is a victim of circumstance and not actually a bad guy because I was really beginning to like her.
Jemma and Fitz- Sure they didn't say it was official, but they are totally official. Out of all the couples on this show, these two are the one we have been really rooting for. After all the crap they've had to go though the last couple seasons, it's about time they got their moment. Hopefully these two go the distance.
Malick and Ward- They were having a little discussion at the end and they bring up the fact that Von Strucker is still alive. Ward also says that he wants to take out Coulson so that Shield would go down. With Malick being a former head of the World Security Council, I'm sure we will be seeing him using his connections to get Coulson.
Hunter and Bobbi- Reunited and it feels so good! I think these two should sit out on the sidelines until the whole team is back together, to go after Ward. It didn't work so well the first time and Hunter basically got a beating for nothing. It was good to see them back together again.
Malick and Rosalind- I really want to believe that Rosalind is being forced to work with Malick, but she just seems too smart for that. She's definitely got some explaining to do next episode.
What's To Come/Theories:
After a couple of episodes focusing on Lash, it looks like we get to see more Grant Ward. The preview showed Coulson once again asking Rosalind who she really is and it looks like she's got another lie to tell. Is she a bad guy or is she one of the good guys? Coulson's already died once and lost his hand, so hopefully Grant's plan to attack him fails miserably.
Though the fights could have been longer, the overall story was pretty good. Like I said, it resembled Beauty and the Beast. A pretty dark version, but still a cool one. Now that we have Lash locked away, we are back to the Hydra story line. Hopefully we actually see a legit confrontation this time and not have Ward running away again. I'm also interested to see what they do with Von Strucker, now that it has been revealed that he is alive.
