The Story:

Oliver continues his campaign while Felicity frantically searches for Ray. Curtis finally meets Oliver and tries to put a face on the Green Arrow. Felicity tells Oliver that Ray is alive. The Lance's have a little bit of family time, happy that Sara is back. Ray is able to contact Ray and Felicity via video chat and reveals his shrunken state. The team groups together and tries to find a way to find and save Ray. Curtis helps Felicity build a re-sizing device for Ray and his suit when her mother shows up. Felicity sends Oliver, Thea, Diggle, Sara, and Laurel to retrieve the quantum manifold needed to build the mechanism at Kord Industries. They find it, but are attacked by the security there, with Sara nearly beating one to death. While Ray is talking with Felicity, Damien Darhk shows up behind him. Oliver decides to use Lance's connection with Darhk to find out where Ray is. Darhk threatens to go after the people Ray cares about should he try to escape. Oliver tries to understand why Felicity is pushing him away and she tells him it was her fault for Ray's predicament. Oliver decides to give her space to think about things. Diggle tells Oliver that Felicity chose him over Ray and should believe in her to make the right choice. Lance helps Diggle track down Darhk and follows him to where Ray is. They figure out that he is being held at the Latin building and decide to bring Sara and Curtis in. They are able to infiltrate the building with Diggle going undercover as one of Darhks' men and bringing Oliver to him. They all make their way to Ray while Darhk and Oliver fight. Felicity and Curtis try to get Ray out of the cube while Oliver gets away from Darhk. They use the re sizing device and break Ray out. Sara kills one of Darhk's men much to Laurel's horror. Ray tells the group about his experience of being small and he tells them that he accidentally outed them to Darhk. Sara decides the best thing for her to do is to leave and visit their mother in Central City. Oliver and Felicity make amends reassuring each other that they will be okay. Lance meets Felicity's mother at a bar talking about their personal issues and Thea invites Alex out for a drink. Darhk plans to use the dwarf star residue left by Ray's suit for something. In flashbacks, Reiter talks about an ancient artifact while Conklin brings Oliver to him. Oliver checks in on the woman he had let go and gives her some food to eat. He asks her about Reiter and why he is really on the island. He promises to come back for her. He is then attacked by one of the prisoners bribed by Conklin and is forced to kill him.

The Action:

This episode had some new and old faces joining Team Arrow on their rescue mission. Not only are they kicking ass, but they also had a pretty solid plan to outwit Damien and save Ray. Check out some these notable action sequences.

New Characters/Cameos:

Ray Palmer- No new character this episode, but Ray is back! He never really left in the first place, but he has been fighting cockroaches and living a bug's life. It was awesome seeing him really become the Atom. Now all he has to do it rig his suit to be able to manipulate his size at his command!

Character Interactions:

Team Arrow- They've finally got the band back together in full swing. The first bit of the season dealt with them learning to work together again, but they were on point this episode. I love that Curtis was brought in to help them and even though it was a little too early for Sara to get back into the action, she was great.

Oliver and Felicity- I have no idea what got into her head this episode. I actually thought we could have gone with out any of that drama, but what can we do. Good thing they were able to patch things up at the end there. What was with the Spiderman kiss at the end though?

Oliver and Diggle- We've been waiting for another broment with these two. It was nice to see Diggle be there for his friend, especially with all the things he's been juggling.

The Lances- They family is whole again and it's happy times except for the fact that Sara has the blood lust. That could be a slight problem especially when your father is the chief of police. It was a heartwarming moment to see them together though.

Damien and Ray- So I guess we all know what was in the box Damien got in the last episode. Even though Ray was saved, Damian got what he wanted and it looks like we will see him put it to use in the next episode.

Where's Ray?
Where's Ray?

Damien and Oliver- Their meeting was pretty brief this episode, but Oliver seems to have this stroke of luck every time Damien is about to kill him. Could it be the little spell that Constantine put on him on the island is what is saving him. You can see that he still has it and Constantine did say it was for his protection. Maybe this gives Oliver the edge when it comes to supernatural and mystical forces.

Ray Palmer and Team Arrow- Even after being missing for months he still maintained his positive and charming personality. Now that he is back, hopefully we get to see him fight along side Team Arrow against Damien and put a stop to his evil plan.

Sara Lance and Team Arrow- It was pretty cool seeing two Black Canaries on screen fighting crime. She took it a bit too far this episode though and actually gave into her blood lust. it sucks that the Lance family reunion had to be cut short with her wanting to get away to find herself. She won't be too far though with her first stop going to Central City to see their mom and then she will be on her way to "Legends of Tomorrow".

Mama Smoak and Felicity- Good thing Oliver called her to come visit or else who would have brought Felicity back to reality. I just felt like that whole "I lost myself in him" bit was super unnecessary. She created a problem that nearly tore her relationship apart and for what? Mama Smoak set her straight!

Curtis and Team Arrow- I've been waiting for the day for him to join the team on their missions and what a way to bring him in! He's a natural and was the reason why Ray was able to return to his normal size. I have to say Curtis was pretty "Terrific" this episode. You see what I did there.

He totally knows...
He totally knows...

Lance and Mama Smoak- We all knew this was going to happen at one point and it happened last night. Or is started at least. She's going to need a shoulder to cry on when a certain some one bites the dust.

Easter Eggs:

Spartan- Diggle got his code name this episode and I like it. It just fits his whole character perfectly. The muscle of the group who protects his team. There is a character called Spartan in the comics who is in the Wildstorm Universe of DC. That would be really cool (though it will most likely not happen) to have him pick up those abilities.

Kord Industries- In the comics it is a multi-billion multinational corporation run by Ted Kord. Ted Kord is the second Blue Beetle. This could just be a nod to this character, but there could be a possibility in the future. Kord Industries has been mentioned a couple times on Arrow, but we got to see it in a bigger way this episode.

Microverse- Ray talked about fighting giant cockroaches and what life was like being miniature. He is cut short by Felicity though, so there is definitely more to that story. He could have come into contact with beings from the microverse, or he will in the future. Thinking about it makes me all excited to see how they move forward with The Atom!

Whats To Come/Theories:

Damien Darhk has got his hands on the white dwarf star residue left by Ray's suit. I wonder what it is exactly he's going to be using it for, but whatever it is, it's not good. In the previews we see Diggle's brother Andy alive and under Darhk's influence. Hopefully the team is able to get through to him and save him. Hopefully we get to see Curtis and Ray jump into the action as well.

Final Thoughts:

All I can say about the episode is that Ray freaking Palmer is back. That on it's own makes the episode a winner. Action sequences were great, the story is moving forward, but we could do without the whole Young and the Restless thing with Oliver and Felicity. Overall, Lost Souls is another step for the show before they do something big. Darhk times are coming and Team Arrow better be ready!
