To avoid fainting, keep repeating 'It's only a movie...It's only a movie...'

It may have received mixed reviews, but I thoroughly enjoyed the Scream TV series. MTV's teen slasher effort read very much like a CW-does-Craven, revisiting tried-and-tested genre tropes with a pleasing lightness.

The show certainly started out strong with a memorable, snarky opening scene. Here's the first 8 minutes of the opening episode if you didn't catch it on TV...

Still, the second season of the Scream TV show could be pretty different. JoBlo reports that we can expect some different brains behind the scenes:

"Original showrunners Jill Blotevogal and Jaime Paglia have been replaced by Michael Gans and Richard Register (Make It or Break It, Celebrity Deathmatch). Blotevogal will stay on as a 'consultant.'"

It's unclear what exactly this change will affect; the series scooped across the board at the Teen Choice Awards so it was obviously popular. Are you excited for Scream season 2?

Scream Season 2 premieres April 20, 2016.
