WARNING: Spoilers for 'The Walking Dead' TV and comic series ahead.

It's finally happened guys, we officially have our Negan!

The Hollywood Reporter has just announced that after a very thorough search, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast in The Walking Dead as the iconic Big Bad of the series, Negan. 49-year-old Morgan will be most recognizable for his roles in Watchmen, The Possession, P.S. I Love You, Supernatural and Grey's Anatomy.

The character of Negan will shake the characters of The Walking Dead to their very core. A villain the likes of which has not been seen yet, Negan favors a weapon he calls Lucille, a wire-covered baseball bat that will crush anyone who gets in "her" way.

Negan made his first appearance in the issue 100 of the comic series when he crossed paths with Rick Grimes, who is intent on bringing him and his gang, named the Saviors, down.

The character of Negan has been tipped to join the cast of the show for over a month now, following the release of a casting call with a description matching Negan's. The villain's first appearance in the TV show will likely be in the Season 6 finale, which will be directed by executive producer and special effects master Greg Nicotero.
