Star Wars super fan and creator of the #ForceForDaniel campaign on all social media platorms, Daniel Fleetwood, has sadly passed away at the age of 32.
The late Star Wars fan had been suffering from a rare connective tissue cancer known as Spindle Cell Sarcoma, and back in July of this year, was only given 2 months to live.
Although he received such heart-breaking news, Daniel fought on with the help of his wife Ashely, for four additional months and with the help of his #ForceForDaniel campaign (which was supported by Star Wars cast such as Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Peter Mayhew), became the first fan to view an uncut version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, along with a heart warming phone call from the film's director, J.J. Abrams.
Daniel put up an amazing fight to the very end. He is now one with God and with the force. He passed in his sleep and in peace. He will always be my idol and my hero. Please hug uncle Marc for me and give Lucy lots of kisses. Rest in peace my love. This was the last selfie we ever took together. #forcefordaniel
Stars from the upcoming film also paid respects to the late Star Wars fan via Twitter after hearing the news.
