When I first heard the title #HORROR, I expected an average tween-pleasing horror-lite movie littered with cynical references to Whatsapp or Emojis or whatever studio execs think the kids are using these days.
Imagine my joy when #HORROR turned out to be a slickly designed bloody tale of bullied children, creepy masks and murder starring Chloë Sevigny and Natasha Lyonne! Check out the two trailers below!
The synopsis of #HORROR is certainly intriguing, reminiscent of surprise horror hit Unfriended:
Inspired by actual events, #HORROR centers on a group of 12-year-old girls who face a night of terror when the compulsive addiction of an online social media game turns a moment of a cyber bullying to a night of insanity. #HORROR examines a world of escalating cruelty and alienation through an online game where scoring likes comes at the cost of human lives.
Maybe it's just my soft spot for freaky masks and the girls of Orange Is the New Black, but I can't help thinking that #HORROR may just be the movie that surprises everyone...
What do you think, horror fans?
