Angelina Jolie's new film By the Sea, which she has written and directed herself, stars her partner of ten years, Brad Pitt.

The star recently revealed to Entertainment Weekly what it was like to have to act sex scenes with her real-life husband.

"It’s the strangest thing in the world to be lying naked in a bathtub with an iPad that’s showing you the shot outside, while your husband is at the door and you're directing him to come in and make love to you...

Love scenes are strange anyway, but when you're doing a love scene with a person that you really have sex with? The only way to get through it was for us to all talk about the absurdity of it and make sure no one was feeling awkward"

Whenever Angelina would need to get out of the bath tub, Brad Pitt would be very protective over her and immediately put a towel around her. We think that's adorable.

Angelina also went into more personal details about why filming certain scenes in the nude was hard for her. After having a double mastectomy due to being genetically at risk of getting breast cancer, the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider star felt insecure of revealing herself post-surgery. The 40-year-old commented:

"I hope other women -- anyone who is worried about those issues and how [your body] can feel or look -- can see that through [the scene]. I’m happy that will be in there if that answers something for them.”

By the Sea will be in theaters from November 13th.
