There has been a ton of speculation as to what is going on with Star Wars' main protagonist Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens. We haven't seen any of Luke in either trailer and he hasn't been featured in multiple stills that have been released.
EW may have some insight as to what Luke has been up too all of these years. ]
Luke is being deemed the villain?
So this new theory coming from a pretty official source may be the best one yet. According to EW, The Stormtroopers who are now a part of the New Order, are fed propaganda as children. They lie about the war between the Alliance and Empire and of course portray themselves as the heroes. Apparently Finn, who was a Stormtrooper, was led on to believe that Luke Skywalker was evil and brought down the 'almighty' Empire.
So the Jedis are portrayed as bad-guys?
So not only have Jedis seemed to have faded into obscurity, the general perception is that they were not particularly nice. The generations to come were fed that Luke and his band of Jedi were all evil. This would make sense since Rey in the trailer is seen asking Han if Jedi and The Dark Side were real.
This is a very interesting theory, and it may be the most likely to date. We still don't know 100% and we won't until December 18th. I for one am extremely excited to see what Luke and the rest of the gang have been up too for 30+ years!
