If you haven't heard by now Death Note, a very popular anime, is soon to be brought onto the big screen. If you're not too familiar with Death Note here's a quick synopsis on the show courtesy of Wikia.

The series Death Note centers around a high school student named Light Yagami who discovers a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anyone by writing the victim's name while picturing his or her face. The plot follows his attempts to become God by creating a New World cleansed of evil, using the book; the complex conflict between himself and all those who try to stop him.

Its actually something I'm very excited for and cant wait to see brought to the live action realm. We already have a director in Adam Wingard who has also directed The Guest and You're Next which are two great films. They have already cast Light Yagami as well and that actor playing him is Nat Wolff, which i think is totally fine. It seems though that we may have already gotten another character cast as well today.

According to The Hollywood Reporter we might be seeing Margaret Qualley join the project as the female lead.

Margaret Qualley, who co-stars on HBO’s The Leftovers, is in negotiations to play the female lead in Warner Bros.’ horror movie project Death Note.

Margaret Qualley might be better known as Jill Garvey on HBO's show The Leftovers and in The Nice Guys an upcoming movie starring Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe which will is directed by Shane Black. The real question is who will she be portraying in the film?

I really believe this casting is for Misa Amane the famous actress, model, and singer in Death Note who is infatuated with Light. In the show she and Light have a sort of romance going on. I mean sort of because it seems the relationship is just one sided with Light mainly using her for his own personal gain. I can't really think of another character that Margaret could portray in Death Note so it has to be Misa Amane.

I'm really excited with the way this project is moving quickly as its projected to begin production in the spring of 2016. The people involved as well seems to be perfect for the type of movie this will have to be in order to please the fans and general audiences. I really hope this movie does great so we can get other anime's on to the big screen in the future!
