That's what amazing London-based concept artist Chenthooran Nambiarooran is calling his brilliantly terrifying series of concept art, each installment featuring a different vision of a nightmarishly re-designed Darth Vader. I happened to come across them a couple days ago on my daily trek across the interwebs to find you the coolest, most beautiful - and in this case, creepiest and most artistically stunning - works of fan-created awesomeness, and I haven't slept a wink since. I'm running on a combination of caffeine and pure unadulterated horror. (Okay, so that's just me every day, but these might have contributed.)
I literally can't pick a favorite. They all scare me, and make me never want to close my eyes ever again. I'm pretty sure if one of them kills me in my dream, I die in real life.
And the way they're all looking at me, they find my lack of faith disturbing...
Well, to be fair, I find them pretty disturbing too. (I love disturbing.)
Enough of my babbling! Settle in and buckle up, awesome Moviepilot readers, because it's gonna be a bumpy - and jam-packed! ride. (I did say 30 Vaders! I think this is my longest and most image-heavy article yet! What a treat!)
Hey. Y'all still with me?
I know. Lots of Vaders. (30 of them!) Lots of amazing art.
Wow. Usually I have some, you know, actual artistic commentary, (aside from just being pithy for reader entertainment) but this time, I'm just... wow.
Gorgeous, awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping, and the product of an incredibly skilled, dedicated, talented, brilliant and twisted artistic mind. From one artist to another, I can't praise Chenthooran Nambiarooran to high heaven enough - although his creations do strike me as having crawled up from, uh... some other place. In the downward direction. (Coming from me, that's a compliment, I swear.)
You can check out this entire series at the artist's DeviantART gallery, along with a lot more phenomenal artwork. I gotta say that 30 Vaders was the slice of digital wonder that caught my eye initially, but there's enough visual awesomeness there that another feature certainly isn't out of the realm of possibility.
And lastly, my usual disclaimer - as always, thank you so much for reading, and please keep all commentary respectful. Remember that the artist is a human like you, who does it all on their own time, for the love of the characters. Rock on!
