Although Bindi Irwin has been busy dancing to her heart's content on USA's Dancing With the Stars, the little ray of sunshine didn't forget to pay a touching tribute to her late father on Steve Irwin Day. Held every year, November 15 is an international event that honors the life of the Australian Crocodile Hunter.
The world-renowned naturalist died in 2006 at the age of 44 when he was fatally struck in the chest by a stingray. He tragically left behind a loving wife, and two beautiful children and left the world mourning an inspirational conservationist.
"The greatest Dad on Earth"
On Sunday, the 17-year-old shared a heartfelt photograph of her beloved father on Instagram.
She captioned the image:
"The greatest Dad on Earth. November 15. Steve Irwin Day. Remembering everything Dad worked so hard to achieve and continuing his legacy. We miss you so much and are extremely proud to be carrying on in your footsteps. Yesterday we celebrated #SteveIrwinDay in Australia. Today, let's celebrate together on the other side of the world, today on November 15. Thank you for joining us in making a difference. Wearing our khakis and remember everything Dad did to change the world."
And Bindi wasn't the only one paying her respects to her dad over social media. Her dance partner on the reality TV show, Derek Hough, also shared a loving post on his own Instagram.
Indeed, Steve Irwin will always remain a legend and we hope Bindi goes from strength to strength, knowing that is what her father would have wanted for her.
Steve, you may be gone but you'll never be forgotten!
