Check out our podcast down below to hear us talk about this episode:
Malick and Grant talk about the origins of Hydra when Grant demands to know about the Von Strucker vault. Before he says anything, Malick leaves and sends his men to dispatch of Ward, but they are unsuccessful. He tortures them until one of them reveals where the vault is. Meanwhile at Shield, the team is coming to terms with Andrew being taken by the ATCU, but they still decide to infiltrate the facility while Rosalind tours the Playground. Coulson briefs everyone and they are split into teams. Daisy and Mack at the controls, Lance and Bobbi in the field, and Mayand Lincoln at extraction. Rosalind arrives at the Playground and goes through a security check while the others go to the ATCU. They make it seem as if there was a breach in their security system with Lance posing as a hacker. They are able to stall long enough for Daisy to locate where they are supposedly keeping the Inhumans in stasis. Back at the Playground, Jemma and Fitz try to find out more about the symbols from their findings relating to the other world. Jemma yells at Fitz for trying to do all the "right" things. He says that he is only doing it because he cares about her. They finally share a kiss, but Fitz says that they are cursed and that the cosmos do not want them together.
At the Once Bobbi gets to the room, she finds nothing but an old fashioned laboratory with fish oil. She then opens a door with a black chest in it. In the chest is an individual encased in the material left by the Terrigen Mist. The team realizes that the ATCU is distributing the fish oil to infect their employees. After hearing the news Coulson locks himself with Rosalind in an Inhuman containment cell and demands to know the truth. She says that she does not know anything about that and has a revelation regarding Malick. They realize that he had been manipulating her and the ATCU since their partnership began. The team try to leave the facility, but Bobbi and Lance are confronted by one of Malick's men, Mr. Giyera who is an enhanced with telekinetic abilities. After an intense showdown they are able to defeat him and are lead to safety by Rosalind's right hand man, Luther Banks, who says he is one of the good guys. May and Lincoln finally make amends before they extract Bobbi and Lance. Grant Ward gets to location of the vault, but finds Malick there instead. Malick decides to show him the piece of the Kree monolith he has and asks for his help in making it work like Shield did. Both Malick and Ward take turns talking to Andrew who has been sent to the real location of the Inhumans and they make him an offer. They mark his box for travel to a far away location and have a bigger plan for him and Lash. The team regroups back at the Playground with Jemma and Fitz showing the team what they found out about the symbols. With the voice over from Malick, it is shown that all the symbols throughout the years changed, but it is just Hydra taking various forms. It is also revealed that will may have been a sacrifice to an unknown beast known by the Kree.
We got a mix of action and comedy in this one, with most of it coming from Bobbi and Lance. It was a buddy cop comedy Marvel style and it was pretty amazing. There's also Grant getting in on some of the action too.
Mr.Giyera- One of Malick's henchman who has the ability of telekinesis through Hydra's experiments with the Terrigen Mist. He was a pretty cool bad guy, but we've haven't seen too much of him yet. All that showboating fighting Bobbi just to be bonked on the head by Lance. Priceless.
Coulson and Rosalind- I'm still not a hundred percent sure whether or not she's telling him the whole truth, but we'll let it slide for now. Hopefully she turns out to be one of the good guys, she's a really likable character and of course her an d Coulson are a good match.
Daisy and Lincoln- After some time being on the run, Lincoln is finally reunited with Daisy. She is the only he really trusts over at shield anyways, so it will be interesting to see where these two go from now.
Bobbi and Lance- These two always are always a joy to see together. Even in the face of death, leave it to Lance to somehow make things funny. Their dynamic made them stand out a lot this episode. These two need to just remarry already.
May and Lincoln- I was expecting some sort of lashing out from May, but no, we get this nice conversation from the two. The last team these two really interacted other than this season, was when she nearly took his head off in the season two finale. To see the gears shift and for them to be on the same page is well. surprising.
Jemma and Fitz- YES!!! YES!!! All the YES in the world. We finally get the kiss we've all been waiting for.........until Fitz says they are cursed and that the cosmos don't want them together. Come one now, can these two seriously catch a break. It made our hearts happy though, even if it was for just a moment.
Malick and Ward- After their little discussion at the beginning of the episode the guy tries to have Ward killed. You would think that after all that Ward was going to end Malick, but no. He's made him an offer he can't refuse and that worries me. They've got their hands on a piece of the monolith and Malick ensures to Ward that he can get him Coulson. We will see how well their little plan goes this week.
Hydra and Andrew- Poor guy. He's been shot, feeling like he's been betrayed by everyone he knows and is now in Hydra possession. They are going to be using him in their grand plan to start of an Inhuman army and it looks like there is nothing that Andrew can do. It's beyond his control.
What's to Come/Theories:
Looks like part two of an all out war among Inhumans is in the near future. With Hydra intending to use Lash to start an army, things are not looking too good. There are a couple of choices to who exactly that Inhuman Malick was referring to, but we need a couple more clues to narrow it down. Who ever it is, is very powerful and ancient. If Hydra gets their hands on whoever it is, well, you get the picture.
Many Heads, One Tale is another pretty solid episode for Agents of SHIELD and it looks like it is going to get better. So many questions come out of this episode alone though, but that's what makes it so interesting. What did you think about the episode, leave it in the comments below, we'd love to read them!
