According to The Today Show's official website, Charlie Sheen will be appearing on the program tomorrow in a sit-down interview with Matt Lauer. Sheen plans to "make a revealing personal announcement" on the morning show, but they do not go into detail about what this might entail.
Though Today is remaining purposefully vague, many other media reports are speculating that Sheen is HIV positive, and this will be the first time he addresses the public with this news.
This rumor stems back to a blind item that made headlines last week when it targeted one Hollywood A-lister who, for years, has been living with HIV in secret. My brilliant colleague Karly Rayner wrote a great piece on why this media scrutiny got totally out of hand, and it seems that until the interview occurs, more rumors about its connection to Sheen will continue to gain steam.
Moviepilot has reached out for comment from Sheen's reps, but we have not received any word on how all these pieces fit together.
In any case, if Sheen is revealing what seems to be an emotional aspect of his personal life, then hopefully this will be handled with sensitivity and compassion.
