Everyone knows that the Home Alone films are some of the best kids' films of all time. Aside from having some great casual swearing, awesome booby traps, that hilarious aftershave scene and the best fake movie ever (Angels with Filthy Souls, anyone?), Home Alone was also a touching story of a family reconnecting.

Remarkably, this week marks the 25th anniversary since the John Hughes and Chris Columbus family Christmas classic was released, a fact which will surely have many '80s and '90s kids reflecting on their age. So after so long, what have the cast up to? Take a look:

Macaulay Culkin (Kevin McCallister)

Age then: 10

Age now: 35

What's he been up to? Culkin was one of the biggest child stars of the late '80s and early '90s but left the industry for 10 years in 1994. Since then he has made some appearances on camera and the most notably did voice work for Robot Chicken.

These days he tours with his comedy rock band The Pizza Underground. To promote the band, he ate a cheese pizza in a video that went viral... I guess cheese pizza wasn't just a favorite of Kevin McCallister!

Joe Pesci (Harry Lime)

Age then: 47

Age now: 72

What's he been up to? After playing the brains behind the operation in Home Alone 1 and 2, Joe Pesci has since made the odd appearance in TV and movies, such as A Bronx Tale, Casino, Gone Fishin', Lethal Weapon 4. After retiring from acting in 1999, Pesci has very occasionally starred on screen, most recently voicing Mosquito in Savva: Heart of the Warrior.

Daniel Stern (Marv Merchants)

Age then: 33

Age now: 58

What's he been up to? After playing the stupid (possibly brain damaged), but lovable Marv in Home Alone, Daniel Stern was obviously "thirsty for more" and reprised his role in Home Alone 2. Since then, Stern has appeared in Dilbert, Regular Joe, A Christmas Story 2 and also the series Manhattan.

John Heard (Peter McCallister)

Age then: 45

Age now: 70

What's he been up to? John Heard a.k.a. Peter McCallister ("the father... I'd like a hotel room, please"... Sorry small Home Alone 2 joke for the fans) was a familiar face during the '80s and '90s, appearing on screen after Home Alone 1 and 2 in films such as The Pelican Brief, Me and Veronica and TV series The Client. Heard has had a long and full career, and you may have also spotted him in Prison Break, Entourage, A Perfect Ending, Sharknado (!!) and NCIS: Los Angeles.

Catherine O'Hara (Kate McCallister)

Age then: 36

Age now: 61

What's she been up to? After starring as Kevin's somewhat forgetful mom, Kate in both Home Alone and Home Alone 2, Catherine O'Hara has continued to act in many big roles. You might recognize her (or her voice) from movies and shows such as The Nightmare before Christmas, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, Six Feet Under, Monster House and her recent roles in What Lives Inside and Schitt's Creek.

Gerry Bamman (Uncle Frank)

Age then: 49

Age now: 74

What's he been up to? After totally nailing the role as Kevin's grumpy uncle Frank ("Look what ya' did, you little jerk!"), Gerry Bamman went on to reprise his role in Home Alone 2. Since then he has starred in many TV shows and films including The Bodyguard, Runaway Jury, Law & Order and Law & Order SVU. You may have seen him in his most recent roles in the TV series The Good Wife or The Following.

John Candy (Gus Polinski)

Age then: 40

Age now: John Candy sadly passed away on March 4th, 1994, aged 43.

What's he been up to? John Candy was already a hugely successful comedic actor when he starred as the polka King Gus Polinski in Home Alone, and following the film appeared in movies such as Cool Runnings and Rookie of the Year. Sadly while filming Wagons East! Candy died in his sleep after suffering a heart attack.

Devin Ratray (Buzz McCallister)

Age then: 13

Age now: 38

What's he been up to? Devin Ratray played Kevin's older brother Buzz and is probably most famous for stuffing an entire cheese pizza in his mouth as well as having an ugly girlfriend ("Buzz, your girlfriend... WOOF!" still remains one the best lines of all time) but these days he's still acting, you probably saw him most recently in the film Nebraska or in the documentary Courting Condi. He also plays in a band called Little Bill and the Beckleys.

Kieran Culkin (Fuller McCallister)

Age then: 8

Age now: 33

What's he been up to? The younger brother of Macaulay started his career as Kevin's bed-wetting little cousin, but had since managed to make a name for himself. He played the title role in the 2002 film Igby Goes Down and appeared as Michael Cera's roommate in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. He also recently starred in the film Quitters.

Angela Goethals (Linnie McCallister)

Age then: 13

Age now: 38

What's she been up to? After starring as Kevin's annoying older sister, Goethals has continued with her on screen career. She appeared in movies and TV shows such as Spanglish and Grey's Anatomy. She has also attended Vassar college and graduated in 1999 with a degree in French... I guess she really knew what she was saying when she called Kevin 'les incompétents.'

Mike Maronna (Jeff McCallister)

Age then: 12

Age now: 38

What's he been up to? After he got his start as Jeff, the older brother who wouldn't help pack Kevin's suitcase, Mike Maronna went on to play Big Pete in The Adventures of Pete & Pete though after the success of that show has since moved off screen to work as an electrician for films and TV show such as Sex and The City and Elementary.

Hillary Wolf (Megan McCallister)

Age then: 13

Age now: 38

What's she been up to? After Home Alone, Hillary starred in a couple more movies before making Home Alone 2, her final on screen appearance. However, she went on to do great things in the world of Judo - representing the United States at the 1996 AND 2000 Olympic games!

Roberts Blossom (Old Man Marley)

Age then: 66

Age now: Robert Blossom sadly passed away on July 11, 2011 aged 87

What's he been up to? After starring as Kevin's scary-neighbor-turned-friend in Home Alone, Robert Blossom continued acting throughout the '90s in movies including Doc Hollywood and The Quick and the Dead until he retired in 1999 to focus on writing poetry. Blossom passed away from an acute stroke at the age of 87 in 2011.
