Horror fan directors can't help but let the little influences of our favorite classics into their own work; what better way but to honor their most significant films by adding moments completely inspired by films like The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, Nightmare on Elm Street, and more.
Finnish writer Aleksi Hyvärinen and writer-director Taneli Mustonen pay homage to Friday the 13th in their film Bodom, which is set to be released in 2016.
“Every camper’s worst nightmare came true at Lake Bodom in 1960 when four teenagers were stabbed to death while sleeping in their tent. As the years passed and the case grew cold, the unsolved mystery turned into an urban legend, a creepy campfire story passed from generation to generation.
Now, a group of teenagers arrives at the same campsite, hoping to solve the murder by reconstructing it minute by minute. As night falls, turns out not all of them are there to play.
Tonight… it’s girls against boys. Let the killing games begin.”
This film stars famous Finnish rapper Mikael Gabriel, Mimosa Willamo, Nelly Hirst-Gee, and Santeri Mäntylä.
Just look at all that blood and fore! Pair it with some suspense, and I am officially in!
All I'm hoping for are some American subtitles, but I'm sure I will get every bloody twist and turn of events in the film regardless.
