If you thought that Lara Croft getting a fresh new look in 2013's Tomb Raider video-game was the only fresh start for our heroine then you would be wrong.
MGM and Warner Bros. have apparently been working on rebooting the film franchise based on the award-winning video-game series and THR reports that they apparently have just hired on the director: Roar Uthaug.
Though not appearing as a big director in Hollywood, his most notable work is the Norwegian disaster film, The Wave.
Transformers 5 screenwriter, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, is also in talks to write the screenplay for the franchise reboot.
I don't know about you but I'm looking forward to this since I'm a huge fan of the rebooted franchise and I think I can speak for us all when I say that I hope the film will be inspired by Square Enix's portrayal of Lara Croft and her adventures.
Now all they need to do to get us excited is cast the role of Lara Croft and if I may make a suggestion: The Walking Dead's Lauren Cohan (Maggie).
She just looks like Square Enix's depiction of Lara Croft to me.
So what do you guys think of the new? Are you excited that Tomb Raider's franchise is getting a fresh, new start in film? Or should they stop making movies about Video Games? Also, who would you cast in the role of Lara Croft? Let me know in the comments below!
If you need more Tomb Raider in your life and you have an X-Box ONE, then you're in luck because the new game The Rise of the Tomb Raider, was released on November 10, 2015 exclusively to Microsoft's console. Or, if you're like me and only have a Playstation 4, then you can patiently wait till next year!
