Hello Moviepilot fans! Spectre stars Daniel Craig, Christoph Waltz, Lea Seydoux, and Naoime Harris. This is a continuation of the Craig Bond era and a sequel to Skyfall. We all know and love Bond. This film doesn't take many risks or show a new side to bond, but it is a hell of a good time, and that is a huge part of the movie experience in my opinion. Again, nothing about this movie shouts innovation and change. It does shout fun and exciting action. In particular the opening sequence. It was breathtaking! The way it was shot in particular. Taking queues from "Birdman" the scene was shot like a play, and the camera didn't go out of frame for a whole five minutes. As well as being shot beautifully, the Helicopter scene was a blast. Overall the action was fantastic and really sold it for me. Daniel Craig as bond is also just great. He absolutely owns the characters and is the ultimate Bond in my opinion. Lea Seydoux was also great as the annual Bond girl. She had the three S' down (Strong, smart, sexy) and had a great backstory. What didn't work for me was the overall story. It was kind of weak and mostly fluff. Some of the dialogue worked, but a lot of it was cringeworthy. Now the big one. Christoph Waltz as Franz Oberhauser was completely wasted! Waltz is such a great actor and yet he was given nothing to do in this movie. His character was weak and so, so cliche'. When you get a great actor like Waltz, you should be sure to use him. Never-less, this is a hell of a good time and I recommend seeing this in a theater.
