We are now two weeks from the second big Arrow/ The Flash crossover (thanksgiving forces) and The CW dropped the trailer of the Flash episode, Legends of Today that describes as follow:
In “Legends of Today", its second major crossover event with Arrow, Vandal Savage (guest star Casper Crump) arrives in Central City and sets his sights on Kendra Saunders (guest star Ciara Renée). After Vandal attacks Kendra and Cisco (Carlos Valdes), they turn to Barry (Grant Gustin) for help. Realizing how dangerous Vandal is, Barry takes Kendra to Star City and asks Oliver and team to hide her until he can figure out how to stop Vandal. However, things quickly go from bad to worse when a man with wings, AKA Hawkman (guest star Falk Hentschel), shows up and flies off with Kendra. Meanwhile, Harrison (Tom Cavanagh) develops a serum to make Barry run faster and asks Jay (guest star Teddy Sears) to test it out."
Let's do a little breakdown of this blockbuster event !
The immortal caveman will make his big entrance during the The Flash/ Arrow crossover before heading to Legends Of Tomorrow. He will pose a threat so hard for Barry that he will need Oliver's help to stop him. Cisco will probably be really important given that he saw Kendra in action when he "vibed" her and could provide a beginning of explanation.
Savage motivations seems pretty clear here: he wants to get rid of both Hawkman and Hawkgirl. They probably met and fought Savage over the centuries, putting his plans at risk. Thing that he wants to prevent by any means possible. Thus, Savage could take advantage of Kendra's unawareness of her abilities to kill her like he already did in the past.
Team Flash Is Heading To Star City
Like said earlier, Barry will sick Oliver's help and will make the trip to Star City. Given the images, Savage probably provoked a sort of blast of energy in Central CIty forcing Barry to take Kendra in a secure location with Oliver. The cast and producers said that the next The Flash episode will really feel like an Arrow episode as the events will almost entirely take place in Star City and vice versa for Arrow.
Carter Hall will also be introduced during the crossover episode. He is the only one aware of his and Kendra's past lives and thus the only one understanding who is Savage and what are his motivations. As shown one this picture he will probably be seen as an antagonist by our heroes at first before finally working together to stop Savage.
This picture was heavily teased the past few weeks as it reunites on-screen the closest thing we"ll got to a Justice League type of reunion before its release on the big-screen. The Green Arrow, The Flash, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Black Canary were all part of the JLA and it's incredible to have them together on live-action. Stephen Amell even teased a scene featuring nine superheroes at the same time. It's probably for the second part of the crossover.
We have to imagine that we'll got this type of reunion every weeks with Legends - that will air January 21st 2016 - and it's incredible to only think about it. That shows how much the producers are confident with their already big "Arrow-verse."
I really hope this 2-hours crossover will feel like a movie and I'm confident we won't be disappointed when it airs in two weeks.
