WARNING: Spoiler alert for Netflix's new 'Jessica Jones' series!

"New York may be the city that never sleeps, but it sure does sleep around... not that I'm complaining."

These are the words of Jessica Jones that open the first episode of her new Netflix series, and set the tone immediately for what's to come. Comic fans probably already know that the very first issue of Jones's first comic opens with a VERY controversial bedroom scene...

It doesn't leave much to the imagination...

In fact, the printer at the time refused to print the comic on the basis that this anal sex scene was simply too explicit.

The good news for Jessica Jones fans? This iconic scene, which really sets the tone for what kind of character Jessica is, has been faithfully recreated in Netflix's adaptation – and if you haven't had time to start binge watching just yet, here's the scene in question (spoilers, obviously!):

First, Jessica tells Luke Cage exactly how her game works: "I don't flirt, I just say what I want..."

To which he asks, naturally: "What do you want?"

He finds out soon enough...

And after warning Jessica that he might break her, she instructs him to try something new...

Fair to say that Jessica is a woman who gets what she wants.

The first episode is utterly brilliant, by the way. But I'm curious to know what you think...

Is Jessica's sex scene too graphic for Marvel, or perfect for the dark world of the character?
