Roughly seven years ago director George Miller (Mad Max: Fury Road) was in line to direct a live-action Justice League film titled Justice League: Mortal. The film was set to star Armie Hammer as Batman, D.J. Cotrona as Superman, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, Adam Brody as Flash, Common as Green Lantern, Santiago Cabrera as Aquaman, Hugh Keays-Byrne as Martian Manhunter and Jay Baruchel as Maxwell Lord. Due to many complications, it became the Justice League film that simply was never meant to be.
Fast-forward to today and DC is full speed ahead on the Justice League with Zach Snyder at the helm bringing us Batman v Superman in the coming months, and a Justice League movie to follow. These new DC films are set to finally introduce Wonder Woman—who will be portrayed by Gal Gadot—and everyone seems to have forgotten about Megan Gale's scrapped Wonder Woman. Photos have surfaced on the Internet of Megan Gale in costume and it is worlds apart from Gadot's.
Megan Gale's Wonder Woman!
As you can see, this is entirely different from what we will be getting in [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](tag:711870). The production crew of Wonder Woman yesteryear was definitely going for a more comic book-style look - and for an early 2000s movie, it would have fit perfectly. Today, however, DC is going for a deeply gritty and dark tone, and I don't think the Megan Gale suit would have aged well into their needs.
Which Wonder Woman wins this battle? Megan Gale or Gal Gadot?
See the difference? One of the biggest takeaways that I noticed is that Megan Gale's Wonder Woman has her tiara pointing upwards, unlike Gal Gadot. The skirt is also a very noticeable difference. Gale's is more comic-style and Gadot's looks a bit more protective, her armor is more for utility than show. Gal Gadot most certainly embodies a warrior, while Megan Gale has a goddess-esque feel to her.
Both are great, so I know this is a hard choice, but...
