Japan's Aokigahara Forest, more commonly known as the Suicide Forest, has been a point of interest on the Internet for a long time. For decades, this forest has been the chosen destination for those looking to end their lives. On January 8, Natalie Dormer is going to experience the supernatural nature of the forest firsthand in The Forest.

As we approach the film's release date and more promotional materials are released, I'm becoming increasingly intrigued by the premise of this film. You might remember Moviepilot dropped the exclusive first poster for The Forest back in October.

The Forest tells the story of Sara (Natalie Dormer), a young American woman who is drawn to the Aokigahara Forest hoping to find her missing twin sister, but ends up finding something far more malevolent. She enters the forest alongside Aiden (Taylor Kinney) and the two face a host of hostile spirits, who prey on those who enter their woods.

That storyline alone is enough for me to take the bait. But recently, Dormer posted some new alternate artwork for The Forrest to her Instagram, piquing my interest further.

If I wasn't so intrigued I'd unfollow their Instagram page immediately. This isn't the kind of creepy content I want to stumble upon at night! Damn me and my curiosity. I'm sure everything will be alright if we just remember to stay on the path.

Watch the trailer for The Forest here, if you think you can handle it:

'The Forest' will be released on January 8, 2016.
