Jason Bourne is back! Matt Damon returns to the world of espionage and deception to reprise the role of the iconic CIA assassin turned fugitive in the fifth installment of the Bourne series. Director Paul greengrass has returned to helm the iconic film series. The fifth film will follow Bourne as he tries to live within a post-snowden world as he navigates Europe and tries to elude a dangerous assassin who is hot on his trail.

Here's all the info you get about about the film:

Without giving too much of it away, it’s Bourne through an austerity-riddled Europe and in a post-Snowden world,” Damon recently told BuzzFeed about the sequel. “It seems like enough has changed, you know? There are all these kinds of arguments about spying and civil liberties and the nature of democracy.”

The Bourne movies really have come along quite well as one of the top espionage/spy franchises of the century, and it seems like Bourne 5 could live up to its predecessors. Yeah, it's clear that Hard-core Bourne fans don't like to acknowledge the existence Bourne legacy which is considered the "problem child" of the series. Matt Damon seems to care about this series and still does based on his excitement and interviews regarding the movie's plot details, and has taken extra special care not to reveal any big surprises. Damon, however, still has his share of critics who label him as a liberal wingnut (among other things) and refuse to sit in a theater if his films are playing. Despite this, Bourne 5 will most likely be a hit and a victory for Damon and all parties involved.

The staying-power of the Bourne movies has allowed it to thrive in an industry that regularly considers comic book movies as the "golden children" of the industry. Bourne has managed to maintain its fan-base and even pick up a few new ones along the way. The themes and overall direction of the Bourne films are what make them so memorable, from themes of loyalty, betrayal, loss, solace, and grief. Don't forget its social and political commentary either. Bourne 5 has all the ingredients it needs to be a success at the box-office since it has a stacked cast, a respected director, and a release date that plays to its advantage. No matter which angle you look at it from, Bourne 5 has success in the cross-hairs and is close to taking the shot.
