I'm BACKKKKKKKKKKKK! Hello again Moviepilot Universe and fellow movie lovers. It has been a couple months since I've been able to write articles as well as review movies and for those who enjoyed my work, I apologize. I was a bit busy moving, starting a new job and oh yeah I GOT MARRIED! I'm a pretty lucky guy to have found her. Now that everything has settled and kickass movies are coming out I needed to get back down to business!

Don't worry this is a NON SPOILER REVIEW.

This time I'm talking about the final installment in the Hunger Games franchise and it is called The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2. Well, I remember last year walking out of Part 1 thinking to myself "this war better be good." I do have to say the action sequences and war elements certainly did not disappoint. However, the film walls under the same fatal problem a lot of franchises do when they decide to split films into two parts, the film is overstuffed with filler trying to make up for the story they covered in Part 1.

How can I tell there is tons of filler in this movie? You ever watch deleted scenes in your special features of DVD's? Notice how most the deleted scenes were deleted for obvious reasons and wouldn't have helped the movie in the end? That's how many scenes felt sprinkled throughout this movie, they felt useless and should have been on the chopping block. That had to be the BIGGEST offense of both these movies. You could tell this was all one story split apart and stretched.

Don't get me wrong this is not a terrible film. There are some moments that are very enjoyable. The various obstacles that are thrown in Katness' squad's way as they try to assassinate president Snow are as fun as back in the original Hunger Games as well as Hunger Games: Catching Fire but much like the entire film they had a darker and more sadistic tone.

Even though Jennifer Lawrence is one of the most talented actresses in Hollywood today and she's going to have plenty of franchises like this in the future to lead, I can't say she was the stand out performance in the film. The best performance has to go to Josh Hutcherson as Peeta. His transformation from a rabid dog-like brainwashed shell of his former self all the way back to the lovable underdog, is very well executed.

When Josh Hutcherson wasn't having a great scene with Jennifer Lawrence there was a very large supporting cast such as Natalie Dormer, Woody Harrelson, Julianne Moore just to name a few. The problem was not with these performers but with the problem was amount of screen time they were given. Why cast so many talented popular actors if you're going to give them only a few scenes?

Overall, this has to fall under the categories of films you should go see in theaters if you are loyal to the franchise. If you saw the other three and weren't too big a fan? You're not going to like this one either. That's why I had to give it one of my middle ratings which is:

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2:

Rating = Well I Saw it Once... That's All I'll Ever Need...
