Anyone who binges on TV shows as much as I do knows that sometimes the emotion we attach to fictional characters is mammoth. I realise that you're aware that the aims and agenda's of these people are purely fable, but wouldn't it be nice if sometimes they weren't? Especially when it comes to TV's best couples, 'cause everyone needs #relationshipgoals. And sometimes, all it takes is a love story in the midst of a zombie apocalypse, to prove to us that love does prevail.
Here's a list of 21 awesome on-screen TV couples that could melt our hearts IRL (even if their characters aren't together anymore...but dammit, they should be)!
1. Rachel and Ross - Friends
Why? Because she's his lobster.
Ross: "Cause you're gonna have to understand that you're with a guy who's not going to stop planning his future with you, because he knows we're gonna end up together and if that scares you, tough! Because you're gonna have to deal with that."
Rachel: "Fine I will"
Ross: "Good cause I love you"
Rachel: "Oh yeah?"
Rachel: "Well I love you too"
2. Carrie and Big - Sex and the City
Why? Because they kept coming back to each other, and nobody else in NYC seemed to work for them.
Big: "It took me a really long time to get here, but I'm here. Carrie, you're the one."
3. Lily & Marshall - How I Met Your Mother
Why? Cheesy nicknames, high fives, their Predator valentines tradition... Need I say more?
Marshall: "I know that you don't need it, but I love you and I want to give it to you anyway. I want to give you the package."
Lily: "The package? You've already given me the package. You've got a great package, Marshall. I love your package."
4. Luke and Lorelai - Gilmore Girls
Why? Because we knew from the start they were meant for each other and waiting for them to get together was irritating AF.
Luke: "A car crashed into my diner yesterday, there's a giant hole where my wall used to be, it's gonna take a couple of weeks to fix. It's a disaster but I, I don't care. I mean, I care, but... You know what? No, I really... I don't care. It's like, it's not even real to me, it's like my life isn't even real to me unless you're there and you're in it and I'm sharing it with you. And uh... I don't know what I was waiting for and I don't know what I was scared of, but I'm not, I'm not scared and I'm not waiting, I'm here."
5. Jim and Pam - The Office
Why? Because they're both utterly adorable and a bit dorky, the best kind of couple.
Jim: "For a really long time that's all I had. Little moments with a girl who saw me as a friend. And a lot of people told me I was crazy to wait this long for a date with a girl who I worked with, but I think, even then I knew, I was waiting for my wife."
6. Zack and Kelly - Saved By The Bell
Why? Both actors have double barrelled first names (Mark-Paul & Tiffani-Amber) which basically means they're meant to be.
Zack: "I love you, and I'll always love you. You know what we should do? We should run off to Las Vegas and get married and then we should move to a new zip code in Beverly Hills."
7. Marge & Homer - The Simpsons
Why? Because they accept each other unconditionally.
Marge: "Is this the way you pictured married life?"
Homer: "Yeah, pretty much. Except we drove around in a van solving mysteries."
8. Chuck and Blair - Gossip Girl
Why? Because they were always there for each other, even when they weren't they totally were. And with such sass!
“The next time you forget you’re Blair Waldorf, remember I’m Chuck Bass. And I love you.”
9. Seth & Summer - The O.C
Why? Because the love/hate thing made for awesome sexual tension. Plus she dressed up as Wonder Woman for him, what more could you want?
Summer: "C'mon Cohen, you are so cheesy."
Seth: "I'm sweeping you off your feet."
Summer: "The sad part is, you kinda are."
10. Maggie & Glenn - The Walking Dead
Why? Because they prove that even in a zombie apocalypse, true love never gives up.
Glenn: "All I've done - and then this. Okay? It's because of what you said."
Maggie: "That I love you?"
Glenn: "Yeah. A bullet hit the wall behind me and I - I thought of you - losing me, hurting. And I couldn't take it, so I hid to stay alive."
11. Bill & Sookie - True Blood
Why? Because SoooooookEH
Bill: "Sookie... I cannot and I will not lose you. For all the ways I have dismayed, aggrieved or failed you, I swear I will atone. But I am not sorry. I refuse to apologize for what you have awakened in me. You, you are my miracle, Sookie. For the first time in a hundred and forty years, I felt something I thought had been lost to me forever... I love you."
Sookie: "God damn it, Bill Compton. I love you."
12. Kurt & Blaine - Glee
Why? Because we were truly devastated when they broke up. Twice.
"Kurt, there is a moment where you say to yourself – 'Oh, there you are. I've been looking for you forever.' Watching you do 'Blackbird' this week, that was a moment for me - about you. You move me, Kurt, and this duet would just be an excuse to spend more time with you."
13. Oliver & Felicity - Arrow
Why? Because even though they have a shit ton of baggage and it took four seasons for them to get it together, they're actually perfect for each other.
"When I started this, I wanted keep you away from it as far as possible, because that has always been my instinct - to go it alone. But the truth is that we won tonight because I wasn't alone. I thought that this crusade would only end with my death. But even if I had died tonight, it would live on because of you."
15. Barry & Iris - The Flash
Why? Because even though they're just starting out, the future has predicted they're meant to be together.
Barry: "I had a chance to think about relationships, how I'm not in one and you're not in one and you're my best friend Iris"
Iris: "You're mine, why else would I let you drag me here?"
Barry: "That's not what I meant"
Iris: "I know what you're going to say"
Barry: "I don't think you do"
Iris: "Because we practically grew up in the same house, we're like brother and sister, cause we're not actually brother and sister, it can be really weird and awkward to talk to me about girls, it doesn't have to be weird I want the right person to love and adore you for the amazing guy you are."
16. Cookie & Lucious - Empire
Why? Because they're both total bosses and every King needs a rightful Queen.
“You want Cookie’s nookie? Ditch the bitch!”

Why? Because even in a long distance relationship they supported each other unconditionally.
April: "Hey. I love you."
Andy: "Dude, seriously? That is awesome sauce!"
18. Jeff and Annie - Community
Why? Because opposites do attract.
"Listen, when you really hate someone the way you hate Annie Kim or you feel the way I feel about you, the easy loophole through the creepiness and danger is to treat them like a child. 'Chip off the old block!', 'You're the best kiddo!' It's a crutch, it's a way for me to tell you how important you are from a distance. But now you're becoming this mature, self-possessed, intelligent, young woman and I can't keep patting you on the head or talking down to you."
20. Penny and Leonard - The Big Bang Theory
Why? Because they bring out the best parts of each other.
Penny: "You know people think you are this weird robot man who's so annoying all the time and you totally are. But then it's like that movie Wall-E at the end. You're so full of love and you can save a plant and get fat people out of their floaty chairs."
21. Buffy and Angel - Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Why? Because they're the original Bella and Edward, just with better lines and far more attitude.
Buffy: How did you find me here?
Angel: If I was blind I would see you.
