Okay, so before we kick off I just want to say that we shouldn't go overboard with the speculation on this one, as we aren't quite sure about the validity. However, if it's true it could be pretty awesome.
Back in 2012 it was revealed that DC had recruited Will Beall to pen the script for their upcoming Justice League movie, which was unfortunately scrapped not long later.
The supposed script had the villain Darkseid lined up as the primary antagonist, with the goal of destroying Earth by moving his home planet, Apokolips, into orbit.
We now know we're getting a Justice League movie in 2017, and that prior to this DC is releasing a number of superhero movies, including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Wonder Woman (2017).
Moreover, Myentertainmentworld has revealed some information about the upcoming movie, claiming that the following synopsis is an accurate depiction of Justice League.
"The world's greatest heroes are assembled to form the Justice League, to combat a threat beyond each individual's capabilities. The story involves Darkseid planning the destruction of Earth by blasting it with a ray that’ll move Apokolips into the Earth’s place."
The website doesn't list its source, but the summation seems to imply that DC is using Will Beall's old script, or at least keeping the central premise: Darkseid planning the destruction of Earth. This seems like a fairly simple plot that could pull together the Justice League movie, but will DC be using this storyline?
Who is Darkseid?
Darkseid is a villain from DC comics who rules tyrannically over Apokolips, a planet as charming as it sounds, existing somewhere between the physical universe and hell.
Darkseid is described as the personification of pure hatred; a pretty-much unbeatable being who prefers to force others to do his bidding.
Is there any chance Darkseid could be the villain of Justice League? Let us know what you think!
