With the onslaught of short horror movies being made every year, it can be somewhat of a chore to riffle through the good, bad and the ugly to find a truly stand-out production.

Thankfully this year, perfection was handed to us on a platter with Invaders.

Released by creators just in time for your turkey dinner, the 7-minute film is now available for holiday viewing...

"Invaders is a dark-comedy/horror spin on home invasion films. It takes place on Thanksgiving night, which is why we're releasing it next week. It's kind of our awkward Thanksgiving gift to the internet."

Written and directed by Jason Kupfer, the film follows at a pair of rather unprepared home invaders as they consider their potential character choices just prior to their planned invasion. Simple. Clever. Hilarious.

Funded through the crowdsourcing platform Indiegogo, the short has won a long list of awards this year and its not hard to see why.

The plot and performances are strong and the production quality of the piece is remarkable. Special attention was paid to the cinematography with lingering shots of a dark suburbia, clever editing and fairly obviously but perfectly implemented special effects.

Definitely worth 7-minutes of your time, watch the film here:
