Those of us who loved Hey Arnold! back in the day were delighted to hear the show will be returning with a TV movie, Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie. It does mean I might have to watch Nickelodeon for the first time in about 15 years, but I'm completely okay with that.
Let the below video instigate those warm, fuzzy feelings of nostalgia. Ahhh. My childhood...
The '90s classic has been in the news a lot recently. In part due to the announcement it'll be returning to our screens, but also because former Arnold voice actor, Lane Toran, has grown up and become really attractive.
I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking, and I plan on finding out what that is. But in the meantime, let's check out what the rest of the original cast have been up to:
1. Arnold - (Lane Toran)
Age then: 14
Age now: 33
Lane has made the headlines recently due to the fact he is, well, an extremely good looking and bearded man.
Since providing the voice of Arnold, Lane has appeared in TV shows such as Malcolm in the Middle and Nashville.
He also sings vocals with his band DieRadioDie.
2. Gerald - (Jamil Walker Smith)
Age then: 14
Age now: 33
Arnold's best friend is a writer, actor and director. In addition to appearing in two seasons of Stargate Universe, amongst other acting appearances, he's also written and directed The American Dream.
Interesting fact of the day – when editing Hey Arnold!, Jamil's voice was actually increased in pitch to make it sound younger.
3. Phoebe - (Anndi McAfee)
Age then: 17
Age now: 36
Since featuring in the show, Anndi has continued to provide her vocal skills for all sorts of roles. She mainly features on TV and in video games, including Spyro, Mass Effect and Final Fantasy.
4. Rhonda - (Olivia Hack)
Age then: 13
Age now: 32
Olivia has a multitude of credits to her name. Her primary focus is still voice acting, including feature films such as Bratz and Scooby Doo.
The odds are, if you've watched even minimal amounts of TV, you would've heard her voice somewhere. Some TV shows she's been involved in include Family Guy, Rugrats and The Simpsons.
5. Harold - (Justin Shenkarow)
Age then: 16
Age now: 35
Justin picked up three nominations for Young Artists Awards for his performance on Picket Fences between 1992 and 1996.
He is also still a voice actor, most recently appearing in children's cartoon Pound Puppies.
6. Helga - (Francesca Smith)
Age then: 11
Age now: 30
Francesca's credit roll reads like a highlight reel of my childhood – she's appeared in films such as A Bug's Life, The Prince of Egypt and TV shows Recess and 101 Dalmatians.
7. Stinky - (Christopher Walberg)
Age then: 10
Age now: 29
Christopher has made the most of his vocal ability, and now sings for a Nashville band named H-Beam, and plays bass. According to the band's Facebook profile:
Sweeping, psychedelic melodies and bizarre lyrical content propel their sets, as slews of props and masks add to their outrageous on-stage antics.
8. Sid - (Sam Gifaldi)
Age then: 12
Age now: 31
Sam voiced numerous characters in Hey Arnold!, and appeared in other popular shows such as Recess and Fillmore!. He also starred in A Bug's Life, like co-star Francesca Smith.
9. Brainy - (Craig Bartlett)
Age then: 40
Age now: 59
The voice of Brainy was provided by the show's creator, Craig Bartlett.
Craig also wrote for Rugrats, and more recently has created animated series Dinosaur Train.
He'll also return to write Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie.
