J.J. Abrams is famously tight-lipped when it comes to revealing details about his upcoming projects, and Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens might be his most secretive of all.
However, while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this week, the director did reveal one tantalizing piece of information: the first spoken word of the film. I know, right? This is pretty spoilerific stuff. So, if you want to remain 100% completely spoiler free for Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, I suggest you stop reading now and move to a safe distance.
Ok, so you've chosen to continue. Are you sure you're ready for this? Are you sitting down? Can you handle such information? OK, if you're sure you're ready. The first word of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens is... "THIS"!
Incredible, right? However, Abrams also brought something else along with him to Jimmy Kimmel, one of the first actual clips for Episode VII. Check out the reveal, and the clip below:
Just for fun, here are the first words said in all the other Star Wars movies. Y'know, for important comparative reasons.
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace: QUI-GON : (off screen voice) "Captain".
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones: CAPTAIN TYPHO: "We..."
Star Wars: Episode III - The Revenge of the Sith: ANAKIN: "There..."
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope: THREEPIO: "Did..."
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back: LUKE: "Echo..."
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi: SHUTTLE CAPTAIN: "Command..."
Of course, you're probably going to have to wait until Star Wars: Episode VII releases on December 18 to find out what the second spoken word is.
