1. Ant-Man 3!
With Ant-Man and the Wasp coming up in 2018, this seems like a logical next step if Ant-Man continues to be as much of a success as he has been so far! I could see more to do with Hank Pym and his "dead" wife in their continuing adventures for sure!
2. Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3!
Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the hottest Marvel films to date, and the sequel is just about the most anticipated film of 2017, so I think we'll definitely see them return after teaming up with the Avengers in phase four. With so much of the cosmic Marvel universe left unexplored, James Gunn will have his pick of the crop to give to the Guardians in their sure-fire third outing.
3. Black Panther 2!
T'Challa was a massive success coming off the back of Avengers: Infinity War, and I for one am very much looking forward to his solo film, which I am sure will lead to sequels. The Black Panther has a very rich history in comic book lore, and Marvel will use that to it's full extent when they bring more screen time to the prince of Wakanda.
4. Iron Man 4!
Yes, I could definitely see it! Robert Downey Jr was rumoured to be leaving Marvel behind after phase three concludes, but he then went on to appear as a major character in Captain America: Civil War, and is set to do the same in Spider-Man: Homecoming, so he is still very much invested, and frankly he may need another film to sort out his relationship with Pepper and deal with the real Mandarin supposedly out there!
5. Captain Marvel 2!
Captain Marvel may turn into the face of the MCU if the likes of Iron Man, Captain America and Thor do leave, and then Brie Larson would surely be locked in for many Avengers films as well as at least a trilogy of her own flicks, so expect to see a sequel announced for her shortly after the first film is released, if not before.
6. Doctor Strange 2!
With the success that Doctor Strange has just finished having in cinemas, I'm fairly certain we'll soon hear an announcement regarding a sequel in development, even if Marvel doesn't finalise their phase four slate shortly. Cumberbatch has the star power to lead the Avengers, so with Dormammu still out there and Baron Mordo turned evil, we'll see more solo adventures for the Sorcerer Supreme.
7. Spider-Man 2!
Marvel has just regained their most popular hero of all time, that's the kind of horse you beat until it's dead, and they will most definitely do that. Fortunately, Tom Holland is perfect in the role, and his first solo outing is sure to be a huge success, leading to at least a couple of sequels, most likely involving a certain Osborn or two.
The Runaways are a new idea that Marvel may bring to the table, although it seems set to go to their television division, I still like the idea of a Runaways film at some stage. A group of children who find out their parents are supervillains, this rag tag group would be perfect for Marvel to start introducing more young heroes into their world, helping connect with the younger demographic they've been starting to try and cater towards.
9. Young Avengers!
However, if Marvel is really set on bringing the Runaways to television, the Young Avengers could be another great way to bring younger heroes to the big screen. With a large set of possible additions to such a roster, including my personal favourite Kate Bishop, Marvel would be smart in throwing a team such as this together. Hell, you could even put Spider-Man on such a team.
The Thunderbolts have been subtly hinted at in Captain America: Civil War, having Zemo, General Ross and the mysterious Everett Ross all in such a shady position makes me think this could be happening. So many members of the team from the comics have been introduced that I would not be surprised if the Thunderbolts pop up in phase four, either on the big screen or in some form on Netflix.
Jennifer Walters is a tricky customer to bring to the MCU, because such a similar power set to the Hulk while he is still kicking around makes it hard to give her a film to herself. But since Marvel can't make another Hulk solo film (rights issues) it may be a great idea for them. Jennifer is a fascinating character, and is definitely interesting enough to get her own film, especially if you give her some of the Hulk villains that haven't been used yet!
James Gunn continues to insist that Nova is not coming to Guardians of the Galaxy 2, but there's always room for the Nova Corps to reappear along with someone like Richard Rider, because like I said, the cosmic side of the MCU has much left to explore, and someone like Nova could go ahead and do it all!
13. Winter Soldier and War Machine!
With all the films left on their contracts, it looks like Winter Soldier and War Machine may outlast their counterparts Captain America and Iron Man, but will they replace them? If so, I don't think either of them are likely to get solo outings, but a buddy cop film could work very well!
14. Scarlet Witch and Vision!
Speaking of team-up films, this is one that needs to happen! The relationship between these two was explored in Civil War, and looks like it could be a brilliantly comedic and romantic film if they were together! Neither is likely to get a solo outing, so it just makes sense to put this together and bring another genre of film to the universe!
15. Black Widow and Hawkeye!
Keeping with the theme, it may finally be time to do the one film everybody has wanted to see ever since The Avengers came out: Black Widow and Hawkeye. These two are brilliant together, and everybody wants to know what happened in Istanbul, so why don't we take a break from universe building to do that flashback tale?
Something we haven't seen a lot of is human interaction with the cosmic side of the universe. It was very mildly explored in films like Thor and The Avengers, but that was mild at best. SWORD is basically Shield but in space, and it could even be done on TV as Marvel's own Star Trek, but in film form you could think much bigger with it, and possibly use Agents of SHIELD characters as well, bringing them to the big screen for the first time!
17. Captain America 4!
Seeing these three together in Captain America: Civil War was hilarious, and if a whole film just had them teaming as a trio, possibly with Sharon Carter around as well, I would be first in line to see it! Even if Steve Rogers bailed out as Chris Evans moves on from Marvel, I'd still want to see Bucky team with Falcon to continue the type of fight that only a Captain America can pull off!
18. Thor 4!
You've got to have somebody like Thor around, even if it isn't him. The Thor films have been far less successful than the Captain America or Iron Man counterparts, but they're still brilliant to watch, and Ragnarok seems set to be the best of the trilogy, so I'm hopeful that Thor or another Asgardian will continue getting solo outings into phase four.
19. Hulk 2!
While Universal does still hold the rights to doing Hulk solo films for some weird reason, I think Marvel may be able to sort out those issues in time to give the big green not-so-friendly giant his own film again. There are a lot of issues not resolved for Hulk, and frankly he needs another film as Mark Ruffalo!
Sticking with the rights issues, Namor isn't currently an option for Marvel, but he's such a fantastic anti-hero and sometimes outright villain that can easily be used in so many ways, that I would love to see him being brought into the MCU fold at some stage.
Let's put it out there while we're dealing with similar issues. The X-Men/Avengers deal we all want Fox and Disney to make is unlikely for now, but I'll never stop hoping we see it one day. Hugh Jackman is leaving as Wolverine, they've just finished an X-Men trilogy and Deadpool is their one really hot commodity, so we'll see if Fox gets ready to pack in the towel anytime in the next few years.
22. New Avengers!
I mean, it doesn't have to be called this, but it seems like there will soon be so many heroes we can't have them all in one team. I don't know what way they would be split, but it would be interesting to have team members mixed up, giving us new dynamics to play with.
23. Dark Avengers/ Siege!
Norman Osborn could easily be the next overarching villain of the MCU after Thanos is gone, and if he is set to be then Marvel should do a Siege story of some kind. Norman and a team of Dark Avengers practically eradicating the original Avengers and then trying to destroy Asgard? Sounds awesome to me!
24. Secret Invasion!
Or how about an alien race called the Skrulls invading Earth but shapeshifting into superheroes and taking their place over time so the heroes start fighting amongst themselves, unable to tell who is friend and who is foe? The Skrull invasion story was epic, and tested many friendships, the only problem is having enough significant characters to make it work. We'll get there though!
25. Secret Wars!
And of course, the most epic story of all. The Beyonder came and took a huge number of heroes and villains to Battleworld, creating a war unlike any other, which could be perfectly brought to the big screen as the end of a phase! This needs to happen in some form, probably later than phase four though!
