At the beginning of the 2009 Friday The 13th reboot, a group of adults go camping at the dreaded Camp Crystal Lake. Two of the campers didn't just go to enjoy the outdoors - they're also in search of a massive marijuana crop. When they actually find it, Jason is standing right there ready to slaughter anyone that tries to mess with his precious marijuana stash. Now, the only question I have is this:
Is Jason blazing up at Camp Crystal Lake?
The short answer is... no. It'd go against the lore of the Jason character and story. On the flip side though, I can give you three reasons for why he might start...
1. Killing teens is stressful
Not every teenager that comes to Crystal Lake is the same. Some are faster, some are stronger (not that it really matters) and some waste their time fighting back. As you can see, it takes a lot of undead energy to make sure he executes each of his targets before they get away. So don't be surprised if some blooper exposes Mr. Voorhees for his hypocrisy okay?
2. It's his only way of coping with his mother's death
We all know the death of his mother deeply affects Jason and it's gonna take more than the constant slaughter of young adults to help him cope. It would make perfect sense for Voorhees to roll one up every once in awhile. You know... just to get him by.
3. Those pesky teenagers rubbed off on him
After dealing with hundreds of teens over the years, it's not crazy to think they would have rubbed off on him at least a little by now...
