Fan film is an art form that is slowly and slowly gaining more ground as the years go by. With the advancements in technology, it seems as if nearly anyone with a phone can produce their very own movie. This makes it very hard to decipher what is good and what is bad.

Luckily for me, I stumbled upon fellow Moviepilot creator Trevor Norkey's fan film The Hammer of Mara. Easily one of the best fan-films I have seen in quite some time. Trevor Norkey wrote, directed, and starred in the film himself along with his sister Mara.

The story follows the journey of Trevor and his 5 year old sister Mara. One day, Thor's mighty hammer, Mjolnir, lands in Trevor and Mara's front yard, the rest is an action packed adventure filled with tons of humor and interesting plot points! I really enjoyed it and I think you will too!

Mara is AWESOME!

Mara is absolutely awesome! The 5 year old girl who has the ability to wield the Mjolnir really is a problem for any enemy! She does a great job staying in character and for a 5 year old, can really put the hammer down! Move over Thor! You may have some competition!

The story is VERY entertaining!

While most fan films are usually re-hashed stories from a bunch of other films, The Hammer of Mara seemed very original and well thought out. Borrowing elements from Greek mythology and Marvel, Trevor did a great job at keeping me enthused the entire way through!

The villain is really mysterious!

The villain throughout the film was a real mysterious individual and it really kept you on edge, waiting to have the truth revealed to you. With an interesting plot twist at the end, the reveal did not fail to disappoint one bit! It is very suitable for young Mara's first opponent and it does a great job!

It is just a fun film to watch!

There wasn't a moment during this film that I felt bored at all. It was a fun, thrilling, and sometimes humorous ride the entire time. Trevor Norkey did an amazing job in writing the script and the idea to get his younger sister involved truly made the film feel special. I highly recommend the film to anyone who is a Marvel fan, or is just looking for something fun to watch, you won't be disappointed!

There is a sequel on the way!

Luckily, The Hammer Of Mara is getting a sequel, The Hammer of Mara: Mephisto's Wrath. Without a doubt this will pick up right where The Hammer of Mara left off and bring us another action packed thrill ride! I really admire Trevor's story writing and I can't wait to see what he has in store for us this time around!

Check out The Hammer of Mara: Mephisto's Wrath on December 4th!
