I remember when my father recommended I watch the original horror The Omen from 1976 after watching the remake, and I have to admit that I absolutely loved it! Nothing terrifies us more than cute, creepy little children.

I was particularly blown away by how decent the gore was, including the famous scene in which David Warner's character, Keith Jennings, is decapitated by a sheet of glass.

The Walking Dead even understands the awesomeness that is The Omen, and therefore paid homage to the film by means of an impaled zombie.

Fun fact: Scott Wilson, who played Hershel Greene on The Walking Dead, will also be playing a role in The Omen follow-up series titled Damian, set to release in 2016.

If you're going to make a killer tribute to a classic horror film, you're automatically cool in my book!
