I know you weren't onscreen for the majority of the series. We mostly focused on your older sister Katniss who took your place in that eventful Hunger Games. We focused on the twists and turns her journey took.
And Katniss had a heck of a story to tell. She went from average citizen to dedicated warrior. She found Gale to be lacking in the end. She could hold on to morality while he did everything to win.
She found herself the figurehead of a grand rebellion that she didn't care about. She cared about you and only you.
Every action and inaction she took was because of you. You defined her story in the end. You were the beginning, end, and middle.
And I really think that is why your death affected me so deeply. While you weren't shown a lot, you were the reason for the series. You were the reason Katniss was able to become the Mockingjay.
You meant so much to her, she even brought you Buttercup when you were in District 13.
What President Coin did to you was sick and messed up. With your death she hoped to fully control Katness. Coin knew you affected Katniss that much.
I wish you could know that Coin's plan didn't work and Katniss killed her.
You didn't know about Coin's plan, though, and I really think that's for the better.
