Fans of developer Hello Games's No Man's Sky are constantly creating works to celebrate the concepts and art design of this procedurally generated title. We've seen concept art, wallpapers, paintings, short stories, and even space games inspired by the original. But one fan on YouTube, sirrandalot, has taken things to whole new heights - space heights to be exact.
The clip below entitled 'ARTIFACT' is an animated trailer which depicts some of the mysteries and wonders that No Man's Sky could bring on its release date. The attention to detail is extraordinary, from the interior of the ship, to the astounding special effects that accompany the spaceship's navigation through space. Enjoy!
Hello Games; Check Out This Amazing No Man's Sky Fan Animated Trailer
Remarkable. The level of quality on display here is truly amazing. Sirrandalot states that the project took approximately 2 months to complete, and was without a doubt the most ambitious animation he's ever created:
In total it took about 700 computer hours (1 month) to render, split kind of randomly between two computers. I think this is the most complicated and involved animation project I've done to date.
700 computer hours. My god. But this isn't the only No Man's Sky video that this guy has been involved with. Be sure to check out his other works on his YouTube channel. But for now, let's bask in the wonders of these astounding screenshots. Seriously, this is some awesome fan art.
So impressive. The animations involved in this project are spot on and must have been a serious chore to create. The textures on this furry little guy are really well rendered, the entire composition comes together beautifully, and the trailer almost perfectly replicates the look of No Man's Sky's official ones.
Above we have the strange artifact that gives the trailer its name. Perhaps its Sirrandalot's take on the various anomalies and mysteries that we'll uncover in the galaxy. In any case, it makes us wonder what Hello Games are concealing at the centre of the galaxy - what sort of sights can we expect to come across on this game's release date? Also, love the Space Odyssey vibe that's going on here.
I cannot praise the level of detail on the ship enough. It's straight out of No Man's Sky and the lighting throughout the trailer is perfect. It has me excited for [No Man's Sky](tag:2684052) and [Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens](tag:711158) simultaneously. Great job!
