This December, Katie Holmes graces the cover of Ocean Drive magazine, sharing an insight into her personal life and shedding light on her successful career.
"I don't shy away from risk"
In particular, the 36-year-old mother of little Suri Cruise spoke about how her professional life has shaped her perception of the world. Speaking about the risks involved in what she does, she revealed her courage when faced with her many endeavors, saying:
"I don’t shy away from risks. I’m just interested in a lot of different things. I don’t even think of it as a risk; I think of it as something exciting and new. As I’ve grown up, I think that the harder you work the more successful you are. From what I have seen, the people at the top, they’re just constantly working and constantly surrounding themselves with other successful, like-minded creative people.”
And perhaps due to the fact that Katie is confident in making bold decisions, she admits that 'regret' is not a word in her vocabulary:
“I don’t really regret anything that I’ve done. I’ve learned from everything, and everything sort of leads you to the next place. I just keep going.”
By 'everything,' she must also mean her turbulent marriage to Tom Cruise then? Three years following her dramatic divorce after a six year marriage to the Hollywood superstar, the actress couldn't be happier living in New York City with her beloved daughter.
"I’m game for anything"
So, what of the future? Although she has fond memories of her break-out role on Dawson's Creek, it's not something that's in the cards in her upcoming projects.
“[Dawson’s Creek] was such a special time in all of our lives [but] some things are better when it stays the way it was. I would love to get together with everybody, [but] I’m not sure a reunion would be as fulfilling as what we all want it to be. I’m game for anything. I don’t really regret anything that I’ve done. I’ve learned from everything, and everything sort of leads you to the next place. I just keep going.”
Such a shame that Dawson's Creek isn't getting a revival but it's totally understandable that the cast wants to move on. We wish Katie all the very best in the future!
