Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny. Consume you it will.

Now I know what you're thinking. "Great. Not another Luke Skywalker theory." Or "Not another whiny fan crying over the fact Luke wasn't in any of the trailers or posters." Let me assure you this isn't either of those things. Well, mostly.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong. But I feel like I'm one of the only people in the world who is happy that we haven't seen Luke. I think it'll give us the most emotional impact when we see him for the first time on the big screen December 17th. So I don't understand this fanboy fever of reading into his absence. I mean the most obvious idiocy of this is the "theory" that Luke is actually Kylo Ren. If you buy into that, well... just let yourself out now.

Now if we must ask ourselves the question of where our Jedi Master is. I say we start with the obvious. He's in hiding, Why? Well simple young padawan. While i don't buy into the theory that Luke is evil. I think that he has done something evil. Something he did scared him and he went into hiding. Think Obi-Wan in episode four. Luke Skywalker is going to be that in Star Wars Episode 7. The hermit.

Where am I coming up with that idea you ask? Well let me explain with the words of Yoda:

"Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny. Consume you it will."

Interesting isn't it? Now I don't buy into the frankly stupid theory that Luke is now evil because of the events of Episode 6. He's Luke. He has his faults but he tried his best to be good. But I do think that the dark side is a part pf him. And I think that between the events of Episode 6 and the soon upcoming Episode 7, he did something. Not evil. But dark.

And I am almost certain this something has everything to do with why he is hiding away. And why we haven't seen him in the promotional material. I think the characters, like the audience, don't know where Luke is. I don't think the galaxy has seen Luke in decades. Just as we haven't. Which, putting aside speculation, that's just really cool.

"You will be."
"You will be."

So basically I believe Luke did something, or feared he did something, and hid himself away. Now what that something is, or was, is a whole other theory I'm not going to go in to. (cough The creation of the Knights of Ren maybe? cough)

But I think we can all agree that December 17th can't get here soon enough. May the force be with you.
