It appears the attack of comic-book adaption films will continue in 2016, with what looks to be no sign of them slowing down anytime soon. We finally get a few new characters we haven't seen before, like Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Ok I lied, Reynolds' Deadpool popped up for a brief moment in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but that doesn't count.

The following are 5 films I'm really looking forward to in 2016, and so should you.

Deadpool

Release Date: February 12, 2016

It seems like 2016 will be the year of the AntiHero. Deadpool was at first showed as a supervillian when he made his first appearance in The New Mutants, but has since changed into the role of a main character who has a lot of personality flaws. Basically, Ryan Reynolds plays a character we can't help but love, even though Deadpool doesn't have ordinary heroic attributes.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice

Release Date: March 25, 2016

I for one disliked Man of Steel, however Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is shaping up to be one of the films I'm most looking forward to in 2016. Zack Snyder, love him or hate him, has created one of the most watched trailers to come out of Comic Con 2015. It took away all the worries I had of Ben Affleck playing The Dark Knight.

Star Trek 3

Release Date: July 8, 2016

This should need no explanation. The first two films were amazing and one can't help but get giddy and happy over the third. However, Star Trek 3 has seen some production mistakes-- Robert Orci left the director's chair with Justin Lin as his replacement. On a lighter, more exciting note - Simon Pegg is co-writing the script, so there's that.

Zoolander 2

Release Date: February 12, 2016

When dozens of celebrities begin being found dead all over the world, model Derek Zoolander is yanked out of retirement, with his old partner Hansel, to solve the case.

Moana

Release Date: November 23, 2016

Last, but certainly not least is Mona. Mona is a young girl with pristine navigational skills, she sets out to find a legendary island in hopes of saving her family with the help of a demi-god.

Which movies are you most looking forward to in 2016? Any ones that I didn't mention?

Let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading!
