The DCEU is set to take the cinematic world by storm with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, both set to be released next year. With those movies of course brings along a whole new cast of characters. One villain in particular that seems to have been forgotten by fans is The Riddler. His fame began to rise due to Cory Michael Smith's performance on Gotham and he really has turned into one of the best villains on TV.
When it comes to the DCEU however, no mention has been made as to if The Riddler will show up anytime soon. Many fans have suggested that The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons would be perfect for the role but another sitcom star may be interested!
Neil Patrick Harris would consider playing The Riddler!
And the folks at Comicbook.com have given us a glimpse of what that might look like:
The movie news Twitter account Superhero Feed tweeted to Neil Patrick Harris and asked if he had any interest in playing The Riddler opposite Ben Affleck's Batman in the DCEU. This is how he responded:
The How I Met Your Mother and Gone Girl star jokingly claimed his interest in playing the role. He included a bit of humor in the tweet so it is unsure how serious he actually is but it is definitely something to think about.
Would Neil Patrick Harris be a good Riddler?
The last person to portray The Riddler on the big screen was Jim Carrey in the critically panned Batman Forever film. While Neil Patrick Harris isn't exactly the first person who comes to mind when I think of actors perfectly suited for The Riddler, he still wouldn't be too bad. The Riddler is definitely a role that requires smart and quirky humor and that is definitely Harris's strong suit. It will be interesting to see if his interest is real however, DC may actually take him seriously.
