So the second trailer to "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" was just released online. The film focuses on the aftermath of the events of "Man of Steel" with Batman (played by Ben Affleck) wanting to stop Superman (played by Henry Cavill) since he think he is too dangerous. And before I talk about the new trailer, I want to say what I thought about "Man of Steel". As a big DC comics fan and not too big Superman fan, I really didn't care for the film. As a film it's alright, but I thought it was a bad Superman film. Superman is supposed to be bright and inspire people and bring hope, while the film felt too dark and trying too hard to be like Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. And now that I probably enraged some fans for expressing my opinion, let's talk about the trailer.

Okay, *deep breath* ...OH MY GOD, THAT WAS AMAZING!

So the trailer opens at some sort of party with Bruce Wayne (that's Batman) arriving and having an interview with Clark Kent (who's totally not Superman because he wears glasses) and discussing Batman and Superman.

Affleck even has a really great line in the scene. "Maybe it's just the Gotham City in me. We just, have a bad history with freaks dressed like clowns".

And as they talk, the orchestral music in the backround builds up and the tension rises. And then...

BOOM! Lex Luthor (played by Jesse Eisenberg) shows up. And while I was a little worried at first when Eisenberg was announced to play Luthor, I already love this character. He comes off as goofy at first (which is fun), but it's clear it's kind of an act and that he is sinister.

Then some footage from the first trailer is shown telling again what is going to happen in the movie. Batman thinks Superman is too dangerous and is responsible for the damage in "Man of Steel" and wants to stop him. We also get so great shots of the two fighting. I believe that one of the rumors is that the fight between Supes and the armored Bat is a nightmare that Clark is having (though I may be wrong about that), and the scene in the desert between the two is Bruce's nightmare.

There is also a new shot in the desert that has winged insect creatures, so that is probably what Bruce thinks could happen if the superpowered alien that helped destroy part of a city isn't stopped.

Now we get to the part of the trailer I have a problem with. It's revealed that Luthor is creating a monster.

DOOMSDAY! (Dun Dun Duuuuuuuh!)

And now Supes, Bats, and Wonder Woman (played by Gal Gadot) have to stop him. I think this trailer gives too much of the movie away. If it just showed Lex working on something evil and terrible (more terrible than stealing 40 cakes), that would have been fine. But instead it seems that the film's main villain is revealed and now the surprise that it's Doomsday is ruined. We know Doomsday will probably be stopped and we definitely know that he won't kill Superman.

But Wonder Woman does look great, and I am excited to see the DC Trinity on the big screen.

So while I do think the trailer gave too much away for the movie, I am still excited to see it. I love DC comics and I want be excited for all the movies coming out in the next 5 years, so I hope it is better than "Man of Steel". The trailer even had some funny moments, so I'd say they're going in the right direction.
