The world of tattoo art is so commonplace nowadays that every other person has been inked with some meaningful mantra or hipster mandala.
Our favorite stars and celebrities are no different with some sporting large conspicuous works of art and others preferring well hidden personal pieces. Whatever the choice of design, we love nothing more than getting a sneak peek at the weird and wonderful world celebrity tattoos.
Check out the celebs that decided the best thing to have permanently etched onto their skin are the faces of other celebrities.
1. Megan Fox
Foxy Megan openly praised her idol and 50s bombshell Marilyn Monroe whenever asked about the tattoo on her right forearm.
However after reading about the ultimately sad life of the iconic blond, Megan decided that she no longer wanted to idiolize the late actress and had the tattoo removed.
"I started reading about her and realized that her life was incredibly difficult. It's like when you visualize something for your future. I didn't want to visualize something so negative."
2. Zayn Malik
Break-ups can be a messy affair, especially when you have your ex’s face tattooed on your arm. Former One Direction member Zayn Malik is learning this the hard way as he is left with the post-relationship task of covering up a rather large reminder of his ex-girlfriend, Perrie Edwards.
3. Amber Rose
Relationships come and go but tattoos are (mostly) forever. Amber Rose had the face of her ex Wiz Khalifa tattooed on her left arm. The ink remained for some time after the breakup but Amber has recently been spotted with a new colorful tattoo covering the face of her past lover.
A great many of the decisions made by Drake confuse and bewilder us, much like the portrait of deceased singer Aaliyah he had embedded onto his back.
The rapper, who had no apparent connection with the departed, posted a picture of his bare back displaying the tattoo right around the time he announced he was planning to release a posthumous Aaliyah album.
5. Ryan Cabrera
Singer-songwriter Ryan Cabrera has the face of the rather beautiful Ryan Gosling tattooed on his calf. Why? A game called "tattoo roulette" apparently...
"Me and my buddy we go in [the tattoo parlor] and he chooses one thing off the wall for me, then I choose one thing for him,"
"You can't see it until after it's done and then we unveil them at the same time."
6. Dean McDermott
TV personality and husband of Tori Spelling, Dean McDermott, made the ultimate gesture of love by having his wife's portrait tattooed above his left elbow. Tori not only approves of the artwork but revealed that her hubby also tattooed her name above a very private part of his body. Ah love.
Stephen Gilchrist Glover aka Steve-O, the MTV stunt show star, made the jackass decision of getting a massive portrait of himself on his back, which still technically counts as a tattoo of a celebrity on a celebrity.
8. Yelawolf and Johnny Cash
Alabama rapper Yelawolf paid tribute to country legends Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash by having their portrait tattooed onto his shaved scalp! They will always be in his thoughts?
Bizarre of hip-hop outfit D12 has made no secret of his love for rapper hottie Nicki Minaj. He decided that professing his love in song and a music video entitled 'Hey Nicki' wasn't quite enough so shortly after had her face tattooed onto his arm to further express his devotion.
10. Marc Jacobs on Marc Jobobs
Fashion designer and mogul Marc Jacobs was overjoyed when he appeared in an episode of South Park as an action figure named Muscle Man Marc.
“Being on South Park was the high point of my life so far”
Though the action figure was destroyed in a pot of boiling water at the end of the episode, the memory of Muscle Man Marc is immortalized on the right arm of Marc Jacobs himself.
