Last week HBO drove fans crazy after releasing the first poster for Game of Thrones season 6 plastered with the bloodied face of Jon Snow. Despite rumors, sightings on set, and suspicious hair length, Kit Harrington's character had been confirmed dead by the studio.

Today, Game of Thrones shocked fans further by releasing a new teaser for the upcoming season. The teaser is narrated by Max Von Sydow and briefly recaps what's happened to fan-favorite characters thus far.

Sydow's voice rings out, "The past is already written. The ink is dry." That proclamation is followed by an Bran Stark saying, "They have no idea what's going to happen." Considering that the show will finally move past the books, that second statement is certainly true.

Sadly, the teaser trailer doesn't give much away about what we can expect. But after the cliffhangers of last season, I'm sure the world is more than ready to tune in.

Game of Thrones returns to HBO starting April 2016.
