It's been 15 years since the Disney TV movie Life-Size starring Tyra Banks and Lindsay Lohan was released, but yesterday Variety confirmed that the much rumored sequel is officially in development and Tyra Banks will be reprising her role as Eve!

Life-Size was released by the Disney channel in 2000 and starred a young Lindsay Lohan alongside Tyra Banks. The film centered around a doll named Eve (Banks) who comes to life when 11-year-old Casey Stuart (Lohan) accidentally casts a spell in an attempt to to resurrect her dead mother. The film was released at the very beginning of Lohan's career, and was her second feature-length endeavor following the updated version of Disney's The Parent Trap.

Speaking about the confirmation of her reprisal, Banks told Variety:

"There is no one else that can play Eve but me, thank you very much! I’m just joking with you, but yes, I am going to be Eve."

She jokes, but in all fairness to Tyra, no one else even come close to nailing the role of Eve like she could:

Rumor of a Life-Size sequel have been swirling for years, and back in 2012 it was even reported that it was on its way, and that Banks was onboard. However following this news, Disney shelved the project for years, but now insiders are reporting that Disney is re-working the script to make sure the sequel is as fabulous as possible. According to Banks Life-Size 2 may be eyeing a late 2016 release, with the America's Next Top Model host saying:

“I think it will be 2016. We’re looking at it as a holiday movie so hopefully holiday 2016. One thing is it’s a very precious project to the Disney Channel so they’ve been doing a lot of re-writes and making sure that this script is really right. I’m really excited about it. I think Life-Size is so popular that it can be a feature film because it has such a cult following, so I’m really interested to see what the ratings are going to do for that. I think it’s going to be a blockbuster on TV."

While the prospect of a 2016 release for Life-Size 2 is more than exciting, there is still no word on whether or not Lindsay Lohan will be reprising her role as Casey, or if Eve has some how made her way into the hands of another little girl. Stay tuned for more Life-Size 2 news in the near future!
