As the Game Awards 2015 draws to a close, there was an image seen sweeping across the sky – an iconic symbol lit up the clouds. Yes, superhero fans rejoice, there is a new Batman game series on the way.

During last night's Game Awards, Telltale games, known for their beautiful episodic game series', revealed that they are now currently working on an all new Batman adventure.

The teaser trailer showcased at the awards features Bruce Wayne in comic book style. A tale of discontent maybe? A continuous motion of still and adaptive imagery appears to hint at the fact that the Dark Knight may no longer be everybody's hero in this story – negative connotations and public outrage are heard within the narrative as it runs alongside the artistic imagery.

Telltale games are renowned for creating brilliant episodic gaming experiences. The niche element to Telltale is that they take your favorite shows and turn them into episodes that you can actually take part in. Rather than one huge game – Telltale releases the game in episode from, just like your favorite TV shows. It provides players with a brilliantly unique gaming experience. You become your weekly television heroes.

Previous examples of their work can be seen in their Walking Dead series, Game of Thrones, and even Gearbox's Borderlands.

"This iteration of Batman will give fans a first-hand opportunity to dive deeper into the complex life and mind of Bruce Wayne, the duality of his own identity, and the struggle of responsibility in saving a city overcome with corruption and villainy.” - Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games.

Whether this game will be aesthetically similar to the Arkham series or whether it will take on more of a comic book feel is still unknown. Telltale are particularly good at producing games that visually have more of the comic book adaptation feel, so this new Batman adventure could be the best yet.

“At Telltale, we’ve been honored to bring our unique approach to interactive storytelling to some of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world, and we’re excited to announce that we’ll soon be exploring what it means to be Batman in an all-new series starting next year."

With very little other information to go on, we can enter into the world of speculation and great anticipation. Are you ready for another interactive Batman adventure?
