Many of us watch movies and never give them a second thought. However quite often there are many stories from the set, cast and directors etc that make the movie even better.
That is why I wanted to inform people of just some of the interesting things, surrounding these iconic movies.
Here is a list of 15 random facts about movies that I have selected.I hope you enjoy reading them and ,maybe, find out something you didn't know !
In the iconic film of Aliens there is a scene at the beginning where Ellen Ripley(Sigourney Weaver) is being told about her daughter Amanda. The actress who played Amanda in the movie(photo above) is actually Sigourney Weaver's mother!
2) Catch Me If You Can
In the movie Catch Me If You Can , Leonardo DiCaprio plays the role of Frank Abegnale Jr. A conman who cons people into thinking he is , amongst other things, a pilot,doctor , lawyer and policeman. However in the movie, the French police officer who arrives to arrest Frank Abegnale Jr is in fact, the real life Frank Abegnale Jr!
3) Inglorious Basterds
In the movie Inglorious Basterds, Christopher Waltz's character is the known as the Jew Hunter and is responsible for terrible crimes against Jewish people in the movie. However, in real life Christopher Waltz's son is actually a Rabbi!
4) The Hunger Games
Within 3 days of it's release, The Hunger Games became the highest grossing movie for the film production Lionsgate!
5) Aliens and Prometheus
In the Aliens and Prometheus franchise all of the Droids have alphabetized names. Starting with Ash-then Bishop-then Call-then David.
In the movie Avatar , Sigourney Weaver's character returns to the real world and demands a cigarette. However, since Sigourney loathes smoking, the entire 'cigarette' was C.G.I.
In an alternate ending to Rambo, the main character was meant to grab a gun and pull the trigger himself. Thankfully this wasn't the ending to the movie we got otherwise we wouldn't have any sequels to the original movie!
In the movie Se7en, there was an alternative ending which saw Detective Somerset shoot John Doe instead of Detective Mills. I think the film makers made the right choice with the ending.!
8) South Park: Bigger ,Longer and Uncut
In the movie South Park, Bigger Longer and Uncut they use the F-word 199 times!!
In the movie Titanic, Rose(Kate Winslet) is drawn by Jack(Leonardo DiCaprio) in an artful ,but erotic painting. The actual drawing used was drawn by none other than James Cameron-the director of Titanic!
10) Vanilla Sky
In the movie Vanilla Sky, Steven Speilberg does a cameo in a Pre-Crime baseball cap!
The voice of Zuul in the movie Ghostbusters is done by the director Ivan Reitman!
12) The Prestige
In the movie The Prestige, the names of the main characters spells out ABRA ( Alfred Borden and Robert Angier) as in Abracadabra.
In the movie Inception the characters names spells out DREAMS (see above photo).
In the movie Trainspotting, the main character drops medication into the dirty toilet(above) and dives in to retrieve it. Luckily the 'sewage' in the toilet was made from chocolate! Still....
15) Shaun Of The Dead
In the movie Shaun of the Dead, Shaun(played by Simon Pegg) leads his friends to safety by going to The Winchester Pub. However outside the pub, there is a zombie in a yellow cap which is a nod to the character Tyres,featured in the sitcom Spaced-featuring Simon Pegg!
