Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens is almost here! The hype is insane and I don't think any of us want to wait any longer. Everyone is gathering their predictions and purchasing their costumes for the release of the film. The big question on everyone's mind is who's going to die in the film? Therefore, I will be going through the main characters of the movie and giving you my thoughts about their fatalities.
*MINOR SPOILERS LIE BELOW! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...
A trained warrior desperate to escape his past, Finn is plunged into adventure as his conscience drives him down a heroic, but dangerous, path.
The first character on this list is a new one to the Star Wars universe. It has been revealed that he is the son of Lando Calrissian (click here to see more), who is set to appear in Episode VIII. This most likely already confirms that Finn will make it alive to Episode VIII to meet his father. Also, Finn is a Jedi-in-training and is a main character who will probably survive throughout the sequel trilogy. The only thing I could even elude to of Finn's death is the battle between him and Kylo Ren, which looks very deadly.
Chance of Death: 6%
Is Finn going to die?
An ace pilot, Poe Dameron is a leader in the Resistance’s fight against the evil First Order. He soars into battle behind the controls of a modern X-wing fighter.
Poe is also a new Star Wars character, one that we know the least about compared to the other characters. He most likely gets captured by Kylo Ren and is brought on to the Starkiller Base where he is rescued by Finn. He then leads the X-Wings in an attempt to blow up the Starkiller Base. He is probably not going to die but that shot of Kylo Ren torturing Poe Dameron with the force is pretty menacing.
Chance of Death: 23%
Will Poe Dameron die?
Rey is a resilient survivor, a scavenger toughened by a lifetime of dealing with the cutthroats of the harsh desert world of Jakku.
Rey is also a new character who is most likely the daughter of Han Solo and Leia. She is most likely force sensitive and is one of the main characters of the sequel trilogy. I can't see them killing of Rey in any way that would do her character or the story justice, but you never know, surprise me Star Wars!
Chance of Death: 3%
Will Rey die?
Referred to as Queen Leia in The Force Awakens, we are not positive on what role she might play. Most likely, she will be in the base of the Resistance with other classic trilogy characters such as Admiral Ackbar. She will serve as a general-type leader and will step up as she has a lot of experience. When the Resistance is trying to blow up the Starkiller Station, she will probably play a big role controlling the situation. Therefore, there are not many situations where she could die, making it a low chance.
Chance of Death: 5%
Will Leia die?
The main character of the classic trilogy has been the most mysterious character from the movie as we have no idea about his whereabouts. As there are so many theories of where he can be and what he is up to, it's not worth going into detail. Most likely, he is in hiding trying to deal with his powers. We will probably see Luke in the last 20 minutes of the movie, possibly backing up Finn in a lightsaber duel? He is one of the two characters who have been confirmed for Episode VIII, so you can put that off the list. Even if he wasn't confirmed to return, I would still have him at a low death rate.
Chance of Death: 1%
Even though he was confirmed, will Luke die?
Clad in distinctive metallic armor, Captain Phasma commands the First Order’s legions of troopers.
Captain Phasma is the female Boba Fett of the new trilogy, with an army. This character is probably going to be such a bad-ass and do things Boba never did as he was under-used and killed off too early and in a bad way. Always remember that the Sarlacc Pit takes a thousand years to digest, *cough. It has also been confirmed that we will see a little bit of her throughout the movie, but she will play a much bigger role in Episode VIII. This is the other character like Luke who has been confirmed to survive and appear in the next film by Kennedy herself.
Chance of Death: 1%
Is Captain Phasma going to die?
Supreme Leader Snoke
He's so mysterious that Star Wars doesn't even include him in their database of characters. Snoke will play the role of the emperor, a very mysterious character. He will probably show up towards the end of the movie, possibly the Battle of Takkolam (battle with the forest-like environment) as we see trees and mountains in this picture of Andy Serkis. He will probably make it through the whole trilogy, at least through this movie.
Chance of Death: 5%
Will Snoke die?
A young, ruthless officer in the First Order, General Hux has complete confidence in his troops, training methods and weapons.
General Hux may play a Grand Moff Tarkin figure in the movie. It seems like there is a twist to this character that Lucasfilm does not want to share with us, I guess we'll just have to find out in a few days. I can see him dying if/when the Starkiller Station blows up. I can see them easily killing off this character.
Chance of Death: 77%
Will General Hux die?
Han Solo and Chewbacca
Sorry fuzzball, but one of these characters is going out. It could be both, but that may be a bit too much. The internet thinks that Luke will go out like Ben did in Episode IV, but I think Han Solo could take that role, as he will be the mentor in this movie and Luke will take the role of Yoda in Episode VIII and die in Episode IX. If one of them dies, I don't think I could see the other one without them.
Chance of Death for Han Solo: 75%
Chance of Death for Chewbacca: 75%
Chance for Both to Die: 50%
Will Han and Chewie die?
A dark warrior strong with the Force, Kylo Ren commands First Order missions with a temper as fiery as his unconventional lightsaber.
I had to save the best prediction for last! Kylo Ren is the main antagonist for the new Star Wars movie, who is most likely a Skywalker or a Solo (*cough Solo). The question is if he is the main villain for the trilogy? I can see it but I also can't at the same time. He definitely knows Rey and possibly Finn and will have a very large amount of screen time. Darth Maul was also an awesome villain who died too early, but is that because we barely saw him until the 'Duel of Fates'? Could Snoke rise to the top as the main villain? Could Darth Vader be resurrected by Kylo Ren? At the same time, I can't see Lucasfilm making one of the biggest mistakes the prequels made, at least in my opinion, which was killing off Darth Maul. Darth Maul in Episode II would have made the movie so much better. For Kylo Ren's death, it's right down the middle for me, I can't give a complete answer. I could say he dies today but tomorrow, I'll change my mind.
