Check out our podcast here if you want to hear us talk about it:
Fitz tries to escape from Ward but is not successful after trying to fight back. Coulson has a hallucination of Rosalind who tells him to get up because the team needs him. He wakes up after being knocked unconscious from the fall and heads out to find Fitz. Fitz finds Daniels and convinces Ward that they will need him to find
the exit point. Mack sends May and the Secret Warriors (Daisy, Lincoln, and Joey) to find Jemma while he, Bobbi, and Hunter
infiltrate the castle and secure the portal room. Jemma escapes
herself after Campbell shuts down Hydra's power, and discovers several of The Inhumans that Malick has gathered as an army, including Andrew. Jemma
agrees to unleash Lash on Hydra before making her way to the others.
Fitz and Daniels lead Ward to the ruins of an ancient civilization where
they manage to get away, while Coulson catches up to Ward and
overpowers him, forcing him to follow them. Jemma meets up with the group and they make a plan, with Daisy and Mack staying behind to wait for Coulson and Fitz to return. They find out that Andrew had killed all the Inhumans that were in the pods surrounding him. At the exit, Daniels attacks
Fitz revealing himself to being "It". The Inhuman had killed Daniels as Jemma escaped, and now
inhabits his body. Ward attacks Coulson when he is distracted by Fitz,
but Coulson uses his prosthetic hand to kill Ward, while Fitz uses a
flare to destroy Daniels' body. Fitz and Coulson return to Earth, but
the Inhuman secretly does as well, now inhabiting Ward's body. The team is back together and all seems to be alright. For now.
These last two episodes have reminded us of how much of a badass Coulson is and that Fitz can tango too. We also finally get to see the Secret Warriors in action. Here are some notable sequences,
Ward 2.0: This is so not good for anyone. Ward was a force of nature on his own and now he has the power of a dark Inhuman who we've only seen little of.
Fitz and Ward- We were all waiting for the moment to see Fitz give Grant a taste of his own medicine, but he failed. At least he tried though so that's what counts. He and Will used their brains to get away from the big guy. These two have come a long way since the start, unfortunately Ward picked the wrong side. Or did he?
Fitz and Will- I really wanted to see them show some hostility towards one another, but no. They are the two best friends that anyone can have and they'll never ever, ever, ever, ever, leave each other. They escape together and it looked like they were home free, until Will turned out to be dead and it was the evil Inhuman inhabiting his body.
Fitz and Jemma- Reunited and it feels so good. That's what I sing every time these two spend some time apart and then are back together. Hopefully they finally get their chance to pursue whatever it is between them after all the crap they've been through. The cosmos heard you Fitz and they are going to get the hell out of your way. The seen at the end where they embraced each other was heart warming.
Daisy and Mack- Best friends til the end. She did not leave Mack even when he ordered her to and good thing they waited until the last moment to jet out of that castle with the rest of the team.
Daisy and Lincoln- Their situation isn't as complicated as Jemma and Fitz, it's just that they haven't had time to sort everything out. They shared smooch at the end though.
Coulson and Ward- It was only a matter of time before Coulson got to Ward and he actually finished the job. The one person that Ward could not manipulate and ultimately lost his life to. Go Coulson, go screw yourself Ward....oh wait you already did.
Team Shield-Everyone had someone to hug at the end except for Mack and Joey. The last season Shield was in a war with the Inhumans and now to see them all working together is just amazing. They grow up so fast.
Secret Warriors- Yes. We've been teased about them since the end of last season and now we got to see them in action. They put their necks out for one another and Joey really impressed. Not only did he jump in front of bullets to protect Daisy, but we find out he is also bulletproof. Lincoln and Daisy have always worked well together and well, hopefully dirty dancing with your team mate doesn't complicate things.
Jemma and Andrew- He may have helped her adjust to life after her return to earth, but let's face it. He was never really right in the head after being turned into Lash. He did keep his promise though and he saved Jemma, but a lot of people died in his wake.
Planet Hala- We finally get to see that there actually was civilization there and that it might be this place from the comics. Maybe the Inhuman was banished there and took out it's frustrations on the people there. If it possesses different hosts, then it would explain why Ronan from Guardians of the Galaxy hated other life forms. He wouldn't have known that it was actually an Inhuman who destroyed their homeland.
What's to Come/Theories:
Hydra has achieved their goal in bringing "It" back and Lash is back on the loose. In times like this you would think the Avengers would step in to help them solve the problem, but hey we'll take the Secret Warriors. Hopefully they are able to recruit a couple more people to join the fight. The other thing on our mind, is who exactly the Inhuman who possessed Ward is. It may just be another one made specifically for the show, but if I had to pick one I would say he is a version of Maximus. He is the leader the the "Evil Inhumans" who has mental powers. I would say he has a pretty good grip on Ward. An inhuman "Civil War" is coming and it will have some pretty big repercussions. Or he could just be straight up Death and that would tie Thanos in with all of this. I mean it would make sense since he is going to be the main antagonist in the "Infinity Wars" movies.
Another thing is what that Planet was that they were on. In one of our posts we talked about it maybe being "Ego the living Planet" and after doing more research we have found that it might be planet Hala. This was the homeland of the Kree such has Ronan the Accuser, Hala the Accuser and Captain Marvel. Hala was a planet located in the Large Magellanic Cloud circling the star Pama. The planet had higher gravity and a higher concentration of nitrogen in the atmosphere compared to Earth. The planet was home to two sentient native species the blue skinned Kree and the plant-like Cotati. The planet on the show is blue and it has plant like organisms. This would explain why Ronan was so pissed in Guardians of the Galaxy and would tie it in with everything we've seen.
This was a pretty amazing first half of the season and it has only gotten more interesting after what they left us with. We lost some good people on the way, but the core team is still there. RIP Rosalind, Will and Banks, you guys will be sorely missed. The theories coming out of our heads are just too much to think about, but has made for some interesting discussions. Solid mid season finale. What did you guys think of the episode? Leave it in the comments below. We'd love to read them! [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.](tag:722469) will return on March 8, 2016.
