Morgan Freeman was on his way to Texas to continue shooting for an upcoming project The Story of God, when one of the tires on his private plane blew.
According to LocalMemphis.com, Freeman was the only passenger on the flight, and both he and his pilot were uninjured.
The SJ30 plane was taking off from Clarksdale, Mississippi when the accident happened, and the Bruce Almighty star's pilot made an emergency landing in Tunica, roughly 40 miles away.
Morgan is confirmed to be safe and made the following statement:
"Sometimes things don't go as planned and a tire blew on take-off, which caused other problems.
But thanks to my excellent pilot Jimmy Hobson we landed safely without a scratch.
I cannot say the same about my plane."
The Shawshank Redemption star also thanked fans in his statement:
"I appreciate the concern and prayers for our safety.”
This is not the first time Freeman has survived a vehicle crash. Back in 2008, Freeman and another passenger were in a car crash which seriously injured the then 71-year-old. However, he soon bounced back.
With confirmation of the safety of both Freeman and his pilot, the Internet of course started creating funny memes and posting some lighthearted tweets, particularly referencing his reputation of being an invincible God:
I'm just glad that Morgan is okay!
