For decades, getting a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame has been a synonym for achieving immense success in the entertainment industry. However, because the process of getting inducted is quite lengthy, some of the greatest movie stars do not actually have their own star on The Walk of Fame.
The process begins with the actor being nominated by the Hollywood committee (or someone else). Secondly, 30K dollars have to be paid in order to install and sustain the star on Hollywood Boulevard. Finally, the celebrity in question must write a pledge on why he deserves this honor and attend a ceremony.
With that said, these are the Hollywood legends who have opted not to go through all the hassle of getting a star on The Walk of Fame:
The reason why Hollywood legend, Clint Eastwood, still doesn't have a star is because it is believed that he is uninterested in getting one.
However, in a 2013 interview with Time magazine, The Walk of Fame’s VP of Media relations, Ana Martinez revealed that there is reserved space for the four-time Academy Award winner in case he ever changes his mind. I doubt that, but, as you know, hope always dies last!
Since making her movie debut in Satisfaction (1988), Julia Roberts has established herself as one of Hollywood's leading actresses. In addition, with three Golden Globes, an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Erin Brockovich (2000) and many other stellar performances, you would expected that having a star on The Walk of Fame would be something that she has achieved a long time ago.
Contrary to popular belief, Roberts doesn't have a star because she declined to have one. Not that it matters, she's already earned it in our hearts!
Al Pacino and Robert De Niro
Yeah, that's right - two of the best actors in the history of cinema still do not have a star on The Walk of Fame!
Despite being in the industry for about five decades, neither Pacino nor De Niro have expressed a serious interest in actually getting inducted to The Walk of Fame.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have achieved immense commercial and critical success and done tons of humanitarian work, while maintaining a happy marriage. Yet, they both still haven't received a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Consequently, this is more proof why the greatest film stars haven't actually been inducted in The Walk of Fame.
Over the course of his illustrious career Denzel Washington has received two Golden Globe awards, a Tony Award and two Academy Awards - for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Glory (1989) and Best Actor for his infamous role as a corrupt cop in Training Day (2001).
Nevertheless, in spite of his popularity and critical success, Washington still hasn't been inducted to The Walk of Fame.
It turns out that an Oscar is not the only thing that Leonardo DiCaprio doesn't have!
Despite the fact that he is one of the best actors of our generation, he still hasn't received a star on The Walk of Fame. However, in all fairness, it is likely that The Revenant (2015) will finally bring Leo the coveted Best Actor statuette. As a result, I highly doubt that he is concerned about getting inducted into The Walk of Fame.
So, there you have it, I hope you enjoyed reading this article! Which actors/actresses are missing from the list? Furthermore, who do you think is the greatest star to not be inducted in The Hollywood Walk of Fame?
