Zing went the strings of my heart! This beautiful flick was incredibly charming and actress Saoirse Ronan showed off her A+ acting chops! It might be easy to pass this movie. When you think of Brooklyn and you know the area today, you have a solid picture of what it is. When you think of New York and Irish period pieces about it, it's easy to think of Gangs of New York or Angela's Ashes. No, it's not heavy with violence or poverty. It's heavy with a simple, beautiful charm. Actor Emory Cohen is bound to be the next "IT" young man with this performance, he had me rooting for his character and he made Italian food sound more yummy than what it already is. Actor James DiGiacomo who plays Frankie, Tony's little brother, is a scene stealer but the director was wise in the amount of screen time he had because that kid needs his own comedy movie. Great popcorn flick, Go and enjoy a fresh breath of air from Brooklyn!
